half my collection is Gibson, half Rickenbacker, and half home built or "other"
What about the last half?

Higher production numbers may just make it easier to see a good one sticking out like a sore thumb.
Or not.
I bought my normal black one *back* after missing out on this one - love that thing in silverburst!!! Keep me posted if you ever wanna move it, cause our channel head has been eyeballing mine =0)The short scale Thunderbird is a nice bass. They only did 400 of them. A prior owner had mine refinished.

I'm into it, except there's not a single Gibson bass that's not a neck-diver.
What about the last half?
Damn, Gibson! Give me a diode equipped Jack Bruce EB-3 bass!
Not bad at all?We have a review in the can already on the G2 Tbird, I played it some yesterday and it's not bad at all...
Ha!Not bad at all?
Might be the best Gibson recommendation I've ever heard!
Agreed...utterly blown away at the quality and care that seems to go into these instruments. ALL instruments require some TLC and some straight brute force but there is a craftsman elements in the Epiphone and Gibson instruments I have had hands-on with in the last few years (recently). Like I said before, it's cool if you don't dig the brand or the style...there's LOTS of other options. But my Gibson sisters and brothers have it figured out!I bought two brand new Gibsons in the last 5 years, one a reverse and the other a non-reverse T-bird, they both came perfectly set up and fit and finish were also perfect, in fact out of probably 13-14 basses I own their finish is by far the best, the paint is so deep (Nitro) it seems like you can see down into it.
Gibson does have a long history of headless guitars!I'm waiting for a headless SG. Not joking, that would be da bomb. Never happen.![]()
badump-pisht!Gibson does have a long history of headless guitars!

I’d love to see them do something crazy like revamp the Les Paul Studio Bass and make it straight up awesome

I’m glad you got yours back. It is a wonderful Thunderbird. As you know, it’s easy to play and has a big low end. Mike, who I bought it from, was great to work with. Sorry DDX, but I’m afraid it has found its forever home.I bought my normal black one *back* after missing out on this one - love that thing in silverburst!!! I do like the looks of the LP Jr as well, but I'm afraid it won't be as hot and mid-forward as I want. How does it sound on a scale from the muddy SG to the hot and hard EB2014? I find mine to be close to P-territory when it comes to cutting through. An Epi Embassy is on my short-list as well.
I started out on an EB-0. I've always wanted an EB-3 or EB3L, just never got around to it. Maybe one day...
Sorry, couldn't resist. My bad, recording bass/triumphIt would be pretty difficult to revamp a model that never existed in the first place...![]()
