Gibsons upping production!

Both of the other Gibson bass fans on Earth will be THRILLED! ;)

Just a joke. Glad something you like is coming back around.
As much as I take jabs at Gibson, I do really want them to be successful. I want them to make great instruments. I always make it a point to try them out when I can, but man, the good ones are few and far between.

I’m a short scale fan , but have an SG and the Jr . I prefer the Jr despite the cheaper finish . They put the pickup in the right place , you have the simplicity of two knobs , and it’s just a gorgeous sounding thing . And lightweight , comfy , it’s fun to play !
And I’d love to see a shortscale Tbird too , even an Epi Pro version !
The short scale Thunderbird is a nice bass. They only did 400 of them. A prior owner had mine refinished.

Having been an owner of many Gibson guitars, if the quality of their basses is anything like their guitars, I'll stick to the 1000 other bass manufacturers out there... Warwick seems a good place to start..

Gibson now has 5 basses in production! I have yet to read any reviews on the g3 thunderbird, but the non reverse thunderbird & the les paul jr have been well received! I have a 2019 les paul jr, the bass is killer! This new ceo is taking gibson in the right direction! Bring on that shortscale thunderbird and another run of the eb bass!
They’re recovering from the mess the last CEO made. They’re trying.

I absolutely want them to be a factor in tue bass world too! They aren't for me. But the more players in the market the better it is for us.

Having followed Gibson for the past 25 years, the new CEO is making the same decisions and mistakes as the old CEO.

If you need proof, here is a condensed version of it:

If not even worse mistakes:

Oh, and if you think I hate Gibson, think again. I have owned 8 Gibsons, and still have 5 of them and love playing them. So I am a fan, just not of their BS...
