I actually have two pairs of (dark) blue suede shoes. One pair has a thicker waffle sole that I'll wear in colder weather or outdoor gigs. The other has a thinner sole and is a little dressier that I where for the typical bar gig.

Classic Adidas Shell Tops or Jordan 10s or Navy & Blue Vans - pretty much anything so long as it's certified fresh and super clean.

Black suede Pumas or cowboy boots, depending on the gig. Formal gigs need formal black shoes.

My feet are bad enough that my options are two:

1) My best New Balance sneaks
2) Hiking boots

I have two different sets of orthotics, and each type of shoe uses a different set. I love western boots, but I haven't been able to wear them in 20 years. They kill my feet in minutes.

Aside from that, I'd be sitting on a stool, which i also bring. During breaks you bet your bippy (@1966) that I'm sitting down to give my feet a break.

I also have a 1" rubber work mat that I position right behind my music stand so that I'm not standing on a hard surface.

Something for you "yout's" to contemplate: Feet do NOT improve as you get older.

What do you wear to your gigs.

For me, its sneakers for bar gigs and SAS black loafers for everything else. The SAS are ridiculously overpriced ($200) but very comfortable and last a very long time. My kids have recommended a $$$ surgery shoe.

Depends on pay and environment. Street shoes in a bar, dress shoes at a formal, boots on a mountain.

I wear boots for everything. Consequently I have about 20 pairs of boots in my closet to cover every possible footwear scenario.

They almost match your bass! For some reason I think I need to get a cajon now. That's the first time I'd seen a drummer use one with a cymbal setup...pretty cool.

I like the Docs because they feel really solid and stable, and they look cool. Pretty good cushioning and not too heavy. I also bring a small foam mat to stand on as well -- that makes a HUGE difference on the knees. I wore Airwalks at one gig, and i kept throwing myself off balance by stubbing the gummy soles.

This is my summer gig – we play are few shows at the farmers' market, coffeehouse, backyard parties, etc. Mix of rock & roll, folk, blues. The cajon fits perfectly for what we do.

Never - EVER flip flops. I once had a cymbal come crashing down onto my foot across the strap of my flip flop. Hurt unbelievably bad, but only damaged my flop. I have also seen symbols cut straight through heavy gauge cables. It is not worth the risk!

Mostly NewBies in white or black; I always have a standing pad in front of the mic, and I wear two pairs of socks or an extra thick pair if we're playing on concrete or tile or somewhere cold.
