Gigging in Shorts?

Not me. It's one thing to play with friends at a picnic, but if I'm getting paid (my definition of a gig) then I dress appropriately ... and that never means shorts.

I live in texas catch me at an outdoor gig where it's 100+ bet your butt im wearing shortpants. That being said... im going to avoid that situation as much as possible.

otherwise... Black vneck knit shirt, jeans, chucks. Jeans and chucks are mandatory stage attire for our band. Shirts are whatever we want... black is easy and I don't blend in with the rest of the crowd with their graphic tees.

They are, actually. Standard issue Singapore Armed Forces running shorts. We wore shorts for our final 'gig' as a band, since it was our last chance to look ridiculous.

Since we aren't a paid-to-play band (small rock band trying to get momentum), I don't wear pants.

If it was a corporate/wedding/professional gig, most definitely, it really depends on the situation.

I wear shorts to my day job when its hot out, should I not?

I have worn shorts at gigs before, but these days prefer not to.

RHCP gigged with just socks on their roosters. Briefs were a lot for them.

Actually, I am in shorts for most all of our gigs. Unless there is 6 hours of traveling in the winter or a later in the year outdoor gig, I try to wear shorts to most of my gigs.

If your young, in great shape and attractive you can pull anything off.

But if you're like most of us, shorts are a bad idea.

I always wear shorts (even to church). But if someone complains, I'll be happy to remove them.
