Girlfriends or wives getting hit-on at gigs?

I love it. My wife (on left) and singer's girl (on right) play a game called "Ok, idiot, you see the wedding ring but are hitting on me anyway so you can buy me a drink." Said drink gets hand delivered on stage to me. My wife is the best.

Your wife is very attractive but I don't get it why does she give you her drink?

easy solution, leave them home. that's what i do. mainly because when i have a show, i need time to do my own thin and i'd rather not have to worry about her being occupied or whatever.

also, there is no dancing of that type at our gigs, so it's not a worry, my girlfriend usually does the merch and stays in the back. little bit better of a situation. but yeah just leave em home.

Pedro, if you hit on a married woman, you deserve the lesson of spending your money, getting nothing, and then seeing how a healthy marriage (a team) treats your ignorance.

It's a life lesson, like, don't kick the elderly.

Buying her a drink may not be hitting on her if its an informed decision. If I sit next to a woman, strike up a conversation, and offer to buy her a drink and she says she's married it's still my option as to whether I'll buy her the drink. Its up to her to accept it but if she does under those circumstances, I think it would be rude to give the drink away. My $.02.

I buy drinks for women all the time without the least bit of intention behind them. Im a friendly guy, and I like to share. I went out to a bar a few weeks ago and spent about $40 on drinks, only $8 of that was on myself, the rest was on a female friend of mine. Just because I buy someone a drink doesnt mean I want something from them. What happened to making friends?

Apparently we lots of tough guys here.

Oh, yeah, like the ones who just say they leave The Other at home. Like a dog or a magazine or something... like she has no say in the matter - or else ; }

Well, if she's a real she in the first place I hope she told them, "No way - it'd be Dullesville! I'm gonna catch some X-Files reruns instead!"

Actually now that you mention it GB, I can't imagine what the response would be if I told my wife she had to stay home. My best guess after 25 yrs of wedded bliss  is that I would require medical attention.

guess I'm pretty lucky. I met my wife at a gig and she comes to probably 95% of all my gigs. She gets hit on quite regularly and always does a good job of prominently displaying her ring or pointing out that she is with me. She has never given me any reason not to trust her and none of the guys that have hit on her have ever been aggressive enough to worry about. One flash of the ring and they back off!

Dude, you bought her a drink. She now owns it. It's her choice to do what she wants with it afterwards. If you think it's rude, perhaps it's best you stop buying married women drinks in bars!

Yeah I agree. Personally, I prefer my girlfriend to come to the gig with me, if she's interested. So what if some dude hits on her? It's not like anything's going to happen.

If your girl doesn't mind and it's innocent, let it be.
If she gets uncomfortable and such, call him out. Walk up to a mic, 'hey, you, guy with the blabla shirt, yeah you, would you mind not hitting on my wife/girlfriend?' or 'that's my wife/girl, she ain't getting you laid dude..' something like that.
Don't make it too embarrassing though, you might end up just pissing the guy off.

Why would she give it away? Honestly, if she's told me she's married or otherwise spoken for and I offer to buy her a drink anyway, why accept it if she's just going to give it away. To me that's rude. If she doesn't want me to buy her a drink she should decline the offer. My $.02.

FWIW, I've bought a lot of drinks over the years for women that were spoken for and from whom I expected nothing and I've never had one do such a thing.
