I'm really excited to try one out when my music store finally gets one in. The aux in is a nice feature. If it sounds good I may put my GK Fusion 500 up for sale and get one of these.

Also as I understood it this new GK line of amps has newer improved construction techniques/type of construction designed to be a more robust and improved longevity.
Peavey made in Asia, GK made in USA. Not dissing PV just the price is going to be higher for on shore manufacturing. GK has retooled their entire production with modern robotic/cnc manufacturing equipment and I suspect we are seeing some of that cost too. PV just offshored everything they make except for a few products.
These are made in the USA. It seems there are a fair amount of amps coming out with built in HPF which I think is awesome for us to have all these choices. For me for electric bass I have not had a situation where I would need one with my GK Legacy 800. I have had a fair number of instances where an HPF comes in handy for Upright though I have retired from hauling an UB. Looks like GK is going for some different features than everyone else, with the STBY, OT, OC indicators, and a 1 percent THD spec. The overdrive channel on the Legacy is insanity, I love it.

I'm very interested in this new amp though I'm thinking about one of the combos first since I already have the Legacy 800. I may be interested in the Fusion + when it comes out as it will have the built in tube compressor. Man that would take another pedal off my pedalboard as did the overdrive channel did with the Legacy.
Compressor wil be in the Fusion + not the Fusion S. There are two Fusion amps, one has no compressor, the next one released will have the compressor. I'm definitely going to be interested in that one.
Those other amps are rated at 800 watts at 10 percent THD, the GKs are rated at 1 percent THD.
Huge difference.
Just bought this amp, looking forward to exploring it more. Somewhat surprised that it didn't come with a case or even an option to buy one. Any ideas?
Although a bit bigger and heavier, I keep my relatively small 1001RB-II in a Gator bag that is about the same size as the amp. It was maybe $35 new and has done an outstanding job of protecting the amp.
I think this is why GK themselves say their amps "sound louder".
I have the Mesa, it is a good amp, I'm guessing, since they know what they are doing, it is a design choice to make the amp a little more "gritty".
But this Fusion intrigues me, it really does. Tube preamp but still sound clean if you want it based on demo videos. Plus Plex-like features built-in.

In some instances using gold plated connectors can make a very noticeable difference in what you hear. And don't hear. My church had to get gold connectors on a new organ when ordered due to the closeness to the local main drag. We had issues in the past of CB radios, police and EMT traffic suddenly coming into the system. Gold fixed all of that. At a price, yes, but it was a necessary fix and we paid for it. Not sure about how close most venues are but most bars are very close to a local drag.

It does not take long in some nasty club environments for tin connectors to start corroding and growing whiskers. The whiskers then start acting as little antennas and possibly shorting out on board traces or chassis. You do not have these issues with gold. I love my MBF800 and have had to clean all the connections a couple times, but that’s just routine maintenance. I have the new Legacy 800 and don’t anticipate having to do this anymore. Look up Zinc Whiskers and Electronic Dendrites, very much real and as a communications technician dealt with them in the past. Thanks RAG!

I'm VERY interested in the 800 watt Fusion S head, (as of right now I'm happily gigging a old, passive Fender Jazz into a Sans Amp Bass Driver (set as clean as possible) into a G.K. MB-500 head (set as clean as possible) into a Bergantino NV610 cabinet).
I'm interested in how the new Fusion 800 sound's when set clean, clean, clean, squeaky clean.
NO grit, grind, distortion, ridding the rails, fuzz or over-drive, just not my thing.

You'll note that the 10% THD spec on the Mesa specifically includes preamp overdrive. Your comparison of 1% to 10% isn't exactly apples to apples as GK would be incapable of including an overdrive circuit and claiming 1% THD using the same terms as Mesa. The reality is that as-written neither company's specs are exactly comparable, unless I've missed something more specific from GK.
