GK Legacy Combos

So are the MBP powered cabinets history? I have a new MB112 ii that is looking for MBP112. It would be shame if they were discontinued. If I had known that were the case I would have likely bought something else since the whole point was the option of future expandability with the MB combos series.

Looking at the specs I'd say yes, they are history.
You should still be able to find a MBP112 somewhere.
I have the same little stack and it's awesome.
The new Legacy 12 combo's appear to be quite a bit larger too, sort of going away from the old small footprint.

No one has them new, unless you want to pay an absurd added on $89 shipping from one greedy vendor. I guess one could always buy another mb112 ii and also get a Lehle splitter but that would make even less sense and be more expensive than paying someone's rediculous $89 shipping charge. I see an available new MBP115 but then the cabinets wouldn't stack up properly and also perhaps a mismatch sonically.

You can remove the knobs to reposition them but I am upset this happened. They are not easily removed so be careful not to scratch the front panel. How many have this issue. We are pushing hard to fill our back orders but that is no excuse. You can be sure I will have a talk with the assemblers about this. They all want to make the best product possible so l’m guessing they will get on my case for pushing so hard.
My apologies

Hi, is there a shipping date for the Legacy 410 Combos?

Is the GK Legacy 112 800 watts ? does it get crazy loud for just a single 112 ?
The combos have the 800 head. I presume the driver in the 112 is 8 ohms. I imagine it will get loud for a 12. I also expect you could destroy that driver with the amp if you aren't careful. I think they expect people to pair the combo with the forthcoming Legacy 112 extension cab.

Mr Gallien: do the new Legacy 112 combos come with a new driver that has a longer excursion/xmax (than the "usual" 12) which allows it to actually transduce 400 watts, which would make it far louder and more robust than a conventional 12" cab? Thanks.

...calling Robert A Gallien ^^^^^^^^^ or someone who owns one of these....the manual doesn't give much driver specifics that I can see...... if the 400 watt (into 8 Ohms) amp is paired with a "normal" 12, then the 12 will start to compress at around 150 watts so use of full power (even at 8 Ohms) would not be possible through the internal driver. If the driver is more like a Kappalite (with a much longer excursion and power handling), then I'm all over this :)

Now I'm interested in this as well...

@rag tagged him for the above posts , and would like to hear his thoughts on how much louder the new legacy 112 combo is vrs the normal MB112 comb , thanks . : )

Thank you. I 'm wondering if GK, like Markbass (and fEarful, originally) has capitalized on the technology of higher performance drivers with far greater power handling and longer excursion for this combo. For my taste, it's worth the significant extra scratch to have a 112 that truly kicks like a 210 or 115 in smaller, lighter package. AFAIK, the Markbass K1 "super combo" is hitherto the only widely available product like this out there....but I'm not very into Markbass....

Here's an interesting shot from the Legacy Combo manual. Power output seems to be...strange.
