GK rails in a pedal?

And the result is in! This box is great in the mix! My guitarist even commented on how well I was cutting in the mix today. This thing just sounded amazing, even better when louder. And when I needed just a bit more kick, the boost gave me all I could want. It was more than just a volume boost, it gave my sound just a tad bit more grit and it really stood out from everything else. This is definitely my new "fuzz" pedal, and I don't regret relegating my old one to guitar duty AT ALL. Great work gentlemen!

Just a quick comment on how awesome these are: they're quite stackable as well! I have mine running into a Blower Box at times, and it's a great match! DOOM for days! It's also great with my flanger/filter combos. It really brings out those sounds. The more I play this thing, the better it gets!

I have a question for everyone that has or tried this GK rails pedal. Since the bulk of this circuit is from the power amp of the 1982 800RB, do you think that it comes close to that vintage GK rails sound?

The only way that we see more threads like this is if TBers support the designers and pay them for their time and effort instead of going to competitors who can undersell them because they have no capital Investment.

You want engineers to come up with circuits? Well it takes a ton of time. And time is money. So if you support them, they'll do it. If you don't, they won't.

I agree completely. there were some very late nights, fried components, fried brain cells and I'm sure a lot of patience that went into designing, testing and building this and the trans boost..... its great to see new designs and ideas. BUT, we must support those investments of time and capital or it will not happen often.....

And frankly if people take posted schematics that were intended for DIY use and commercialize them, then don't be surprised when the next FEA/JK schematic isn't published. Thus screwing the DIY crowd.

Hi guys,

Was there a final schem posted for the pedal version? Or just for the original RB power amp?
Interested in building one for myself, but would probably fab a board of my own design from the schem (if at all possible).
I checked through the whole thread, but couldn't see it (other than the PDF of the PCB layout for etching), although I may have missed it.

Any help would be great
