Cool big rig

I saw her on her east coast tour for Love Remains in Ardmore, PA. Small-ish venue, certainly way way way smaller than the Crossroads festival. Maybe they crammed 400 people in. She had one 410 EBS cab and a rack case on top of it, a few pedals, and 3 basses. (I'm veering way off topic here, but she played a Fender P-bass for most of the songs, a Harmony hollow body for a few, an acoustic guitar for a few others during which the guitarist took over bass duties, and her Sadowsky 5-string for exactly one song.)

Ralph that's a great dig. Well played (pun intended) But I can do better. My sixth grade teacher was also a music teacher. She could spell and play music and sing. She was also smokin' hot and drove a Jaguar XKE.

My sixth grade teacher was the opposite. I’m pretty sure the Adam’s Apple was a clue. She drove an Astro van... so pretty much the same thing when it comes to vehicles.

My new rig is a Markbass Stu-Amp 1000 with matching Classic 152 SH cab - it's not super big, and it is easy to transport but it is the most powerful amp I have ever played through. I absolutely love this amp.

I lug this rig wherever I play - indoors, outdoors, smaller venues, larger venues, cafes, a squat in East Berlin, five stories up with no elevator... doesn't matter. I carry all of my stuff by myself...

Enjoy it while you can. One day your body will decide it doesn't want to do that any more, and then you'll be extolling the virtues of modern lightweight bass amps & cabs in the Dinky Amps thread.



I'm just jealous. I wish my body still did that.
