This time, it looks like he just washed it.

I think the guy who owns this also owns the Jaguar Sovereign and a few other cars I’ve posted here.

They're great modding platforms and pretty much the ultimate entry-level sports car. Miatas are much more obtainable than Lotuses too. Like some enthusiasts say: Miata Is Always The Answer.

I assume this VIN code would identify the car as a factory Super Sport. I know how often they get cloned and that's why I was careful only to acknowledge it as a Chevelle. But, if I do see it again, I'll see if I can verify

If in fact that is a real convertible SS 396 car (the first 5 digits of the VIN would be 13867) then that's a fairly rare car. Less than 2300 SS convertibles were built in 68, versus 55,000 of the hardtop SS version.

The 68 SS El Camino was also somewhat rare, with less than 5200 being built out of a total run of 41000 El Caminos. I have one of those 5200 SS cars.

How I caught the pic: It's a divided street, with a U-turn about 1/2 block away. So if I see a cool car going by, there's a 50% chance it will soon be coming back.

We were in London two weeks ago, and I saw several of those models, and took a photo of a similar Rolls Spectre. I've never seen such a high concentration of ultra high-end cars as I did in the posh sections of London.

But I was surprised, and very happy, to see this in the Pimlico neighborhood:
