Goobye, Supercollider

I only told you to do your homework because you stated I was full of "silliness"

without re-posting a bunch of informative links on bypass that nobody ever seems to read, a buffered looper like the LS-2 WILL interfere with the fuzz->wah signal path. This isn't just some hypothetical conjecture, nor is it merely my personal experience - it is electrical principles in action and I hope somebody more articulate in technical matters steps in because it's the weekend and I don't have time to compose a treatise

If you got links, why not just use your sig for 1 or 2?

Maybe now I'm just being silly :p Sigs should only be for FS/FT links and quote of other peoples posts.

No need to compose a treatise twice LOL. Just "check mah sig"!

do a search for "bypass" haha. what do i look like? a dadburned encyclopedia?

besides you forgot about the #1 priority for sigs - membership in silly club threads

FWIW RCC, I think you might have stepped outside the land of the sensible for a moment there. I've never heard of the fuzz --> buffer --> wah problem you're describing. I don't see how TBP is involved in any case.

It would be one thing if the fuzz was later in the chain, because there are well-known problems with (passive bass) --> buffer --> (fuzz face clone) chains, but aside from that it's news to me.

Link?

it's more of a buffer->wah issue than a buffer->fuzz issue

I actually think that buffer fuzz face stuff is kinda overblown. Maybe it only applies to germanium models? I've tried a bunch and I've never been able to reproduce that problem (nor the ff issues with onboard volume rolled off).

i wish i had time to pull the links together before Tuesday, but I don't. Good thing I have about zero image to preserve around here :bawl:

Let me just say that I am not a fanatic for one type of bypass over another, it's simply a factor that has to be considered when arranging a pedalboard, as well as when making purchases

now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Sorry 'Screech.

ಠ_ಠ

Can someone please explain what just happened up in my thread?

I wish I knew......

Anyways, that Radial blender (or another mix pedal with a phase inversion switch on the loop signal) would be the best shot if you do try out the Fuzz/Wah blended with fuzz idea, just in case the wah you get does invert the phase of the signal. Just remember to leave the wah ON and switch it in/out of the chain with the mix pedal.

What about Black Cat Moan Wah > BBM on dry?

I'd just like to quickly warn you of the black cat moan before it's to late and you've already gone and bought it.
I have one.
I don't like it.
At all.
It just sounds really weak. The only way to get a pronounced wha effect from it is to turn on the "moan" feature, which is just a fuzz in front of the wha. A boring bleh kind of fuzz at that.

Oh yeah, It also sucks lows. But the bigger problem is that it just plain sucks. I wouldn't want to use it on any instrument really.

If you were torn between the weeping demon and the black cat I'd recommend the former in a heartbeat. I have one of those too and it's on my board.

:hmm:

Someone else warned me about that too, but that was a looong time ago.
I used a Weeping Demon, actually tested it out, and liked it, but didn't get it.

I might actually have to get one now, because my 105Q isn't cutting it.

Huh? We're talking about a fuzz pedal, not a wah.

EDIT: I must have missed something. Ignore.
