Blues is kind of a wide genre. A lot of the greats have been mentioned so I'll branch out a little bit. Roscoe Beck (with or without Eric Johnson) and Hutch Hutchinson with Bonnie Raitt.

I've seen very few blues players listed here. A few guys that might have a recorded 12 bar thing here and there. I'd list Dave Myers from The Aces as one of the greats, and Calvin Jones. Larry Taylor, I think, is particularly good with the Hollywood Fats Band on the upright.

Nice resurrection of a six year old thread!

I would throw Jojo Garza (Los Lonely Boys) in there as well for modern blues/rock players. He is excellent and sings great as well.
