good delay pedal for bass

TC Flashback - clean delay with no tone loss and doesn't get muddy. Lots of settings from digital, tape, echo and I also use it as a Chorus (either with mod or with a toneprint) and for slapping with the Slap setting and short delay gives some boost.

I would love to try the MXR Carbon Copy

I just added a Strymon Dig. It's basically two delays in one and simple to use. Tap tempo, five sinc/timing modes between the two delays (1/8, 1/4, golden ratio, 1/8 triplets 1/4 dotted), blends for both delays, mono/stereo, and free mode (disconnects the sinc/timing mode between the two delays), three output variables (series, ping pong and parallel), three tone modes (clean, warm and bright), and three delay types (analog and digital...the latter offers 12 bit and 24/96).
It's an impressive delay that sounds fantastic not only on bass, but also my key and guitar setup.
Highly recommend!

You're the first bassist I've seen commenting on the Dig... I really, really want one! I've caught the digital delay bug and I really want to start layering delays from my rig for spooky & synthy swells. I'm stuck between the Strymon Dig and the new Source Audio Nemesis coming out as my birthday present to myself...

Thanks for the review!

Really useful to read all of this. Seems a boss delay might be quite a good war horse for live. Anyone tried the DigiTech Obscura?
I use an Obscura. It's a great pedal with a lot in it for a small cost and footprint. The only issue I have is that dialling in tones can be quite fiddly, it's the only pedal I own where I feel the need to take pictures of settings. That said, it's my first foray into delay so YMMV.

One thing that I have noticed is that the Moog Minifooger MF-Delay gets very little love on this board. It's the first and only delay that I have owned. I like it a lot. Good tones, easy to use, sturdy construction....... Am I missing something or is it just that it's not the "new" thing on the block any longer?

I like the flashback mini. Most of the time I have it loaded with the 2290 toneprint which is great for bass, but with your smartphone and the free app you can change it quickly and easily to all sorts of vintage inspired delays. Bonus points for the awesome tri-chorus toneprint as well.
