good delay pedal for bass

I really dig the Boss RE-20. In general, I think it's a great delay, but it has two features that I find incredibly useful with bass.

Tap Tempo. Rhythm is important. TT gives you control of that without taking your hands off of your instrument.

Separate bass and tone controls. I find it very useful to roll off low end on the repeats. Keeps the delayed notes from clashing with the instrument's notes.

Any really. I use the boss DD3 and the hardware DL8. Awesome delays. I tend to stick to digital delays because they hold your repeats better. Analogue sounds great! But in a live setting, I found that the repeats get muddied out. The DOD dfx9 is awesome too. It's like a mix between digital and a strong analogue delay. Sounds great. Hard to find sort of though.

I really like the Moog Minifooger delay I have. The drive knob is crucial for getting the delayed bass heard in a mix, big fan of that. Also the expression pedal feature takes it to a whole new level.

TC Electronic Flashback/Alter Ego/Trinity wins top prize for me.

Fantastic sounding delay with lots of different models built in.
Toneprints for just about any delay/chorus sound you can can be downloaded.
You can custom design your own toneprint to fit your needs.
Has a looper built in.
If you don't need the stereo function, you can use the secondary output to feed your tuner.

Flashback Mini if you want something smaller and don't need the looper or stereo output.

Have a boss dd7. Love it. Sold eventide timefactor due to size and I didn't use all the features. Have an empress tape delay on the way. Smaller than other empress delays and has tap tempo. It looks like just what I need. Would like to check out strymon ones as well, but for the money a dd7 with tt switch is a great choice.

TC Electronic Flashback
TC Electronic Alter Ego V2
Subdecay Anamnesis Echo
Zoom MS-70CDR

I mostly use delay at a short setting as a kind of less muddy reverb effect, any of those can do that. The Anamnesis is fun for modulated delay creepy sounds.

One I haven't tried myself but many seem to like is the EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master, nice delay and reverb combined in a small pedal.

I can definitely steer you away from a delay if that helps......the Infanem Small Echo Array. I bought it mainly because on paper it has the best feature set. In reality, the pedal sucks tone, and the delays, although digital, are incredibly noisy and lo-fi. I am very unhappy with this pedal.

I haven't found a bad sounding delay on the Zoom MS70CDR yet. Lots of options, some really weird ones you may never use, and as a bonus there's also reverb and chorus/ modulation effects too.
