I started a new thread earlier this month, stating the following:
I need some opinions please. I just put a set of LaBella Deep Talkin stainless flatwounds on my Modulus Flea 5. They sound GREAT, except for the D-string. The other strings sound deep, round, and warm. But the D-string sounds twangy and if you let it ring, the sound wavers or oscillates, as if somehow 2 different notes were being struck at the same time. Anyone ever encounter this before?
I did check the guage of the string with a micometer, and it was correct, and visually the string appears to be normal. I never had this issue with all the other different sets of strings that I've used. This is my first set of LaBella's. Could I have a bum string?

Well, I contacted LaBella, and the folks there were great. They agreed right away to send a replacement string, but due to manufacturing scheduling or something like that, it did not get to me in time for an important gig. I did get the new string this week, and it is perfect. But get this, not only did they ship me the new D string, but I get an email today telling me they are also sending a complete new set as well, to make up for not getting me the replacement string in time. It's not often you run into a company that cares about their customers, but when you do, what a refreshing change! By the way, these strings are the absolute best I've ever played. They sounded great to start with, and they sound even better with each passing day. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for old school fat, warm tone. Just wanted to share my experience and give well-deserved props to the folks at LaBella.
