GR Bass review

In the past years we have also had speakers from different brands, but now we mount Jensen/Sica all over the line.
Setup for today's big band gig...these speakers are superb, best I've owned.
I'm considering a One 800 head and AT 210 cab to replace my Fender Rumble Stage 800, mainly due to weight and portability.
Has the GR Bass equipment proven to be reliable at this point?
Does the 800 watt head pair well with the AT 210?
One of the bands I play with tunes down a half step. I'm guessing that precludes the tuner from being of much help in that case?

Correct, the tuner is standard tuning, so it won't help much with 1/2 step down, unless one of the "flat" lights matches the notes you want.
800 watt head into a 600 watt cab is ok with a little common sense.
As far as reliability, it is hard to say.
I don't believe GR Bass has been around a long time, so there are not many of them out there compared to other brands. Combine that with a reduction of gigs in the past several years, and the equipment being hard to get because of Covid supply issues, all lead to a small sample for reporting reliability. One issue can appear huge when in the larger scheme of things, it's just one.
I don't know why they would not be reliable.
They certainly sound great.
Because it is so light, you have to hold back the temptation to throw it, or show off holding it with one hand above your head (because you can), which increases the chances of it being damaged. Things you wouldn't (couldn't) do with a heavier cabinet. Can you abuse it as much as a heavy cabinet? probably not, but I don't abuse my cabinets.
Treat it well, and it will treat you well, IMO.

I do not enter into the merit of the quality of our products because they must be the customers to talk about it, but I want to emphasize two things. The Carbon fiber is not only lighter than wood, it is also much more resistant. We are so be certain about the reliability of our products to give 5 years warranty.

I visited Austin Guitar House yesterday and bought the One 800 head and AT210 cab they had in stock.
I was pretty skeptical of how this setup would sound being that I'm used to wood cabinets, but I was pleasantly surprised. The lightweight aspect was another bonus. Even rated at 400 watts @ 8 ohms, this head has way more volume that I'll ever need for any gig, but it is nice to have that headroom just in case.
The sound of these two seem to be fairly slanted towards a FRFR type sound. Which is fine with me, I like the sound of my bass and don't use any dirt in my sound. That said, it is still a little on the sterile side to me. Hoping as the cab and speakers get some hours on it that it might break in and smooth out a bit as other cabs I've used in the past have. Although, that might be different with carbon fiber, we shall see.
The presence of this 2x10 cab is pretty surprising. It almost has a 4x10 feel to it in the way it handles low frequencies. I don't remember experiencing that with other 2x10 cabs. As someone that prefers 4x10 cabs, but doesn't want to lug that weight around anymore, this was a welcome discovery to me. I'm finding that I prefer to dial the low knob back past noon some to tame some of the low end. That is not something I've had to do before with a 2x10 cab.
I took my two old Fender Rumble combos to Guitar Center and sold them after I bought the GR setup. Looking forward to lighter load ins. Rehearsal this week should be interesting.

I’ve done shows with the 800 head and the graphite 210. It’s a great rig, but it’s still a 210… So don’t expect it to be metal worthy. The head has proven reliable so far, I’ve been using it for about six months of hard touring.

Strongly considering either the Dual 800 or 1400. Looks great from demos.
This may be a silly question, but could i go from my bass to an ABY box, then into both inputs at once, mixing the two channels?
One clean channel with modulation/delay/reverb pedals, and one drive channel with distortion pedals, could be ideal for me.

The channels of the DUAL can be used one at a time or at the same time using the selector.
So if I understand your question correctly, I’d say the answer is yes.
Hello all, here is a little feedback on the gr cube 500 (wood version) that I bought few weeks ago. I use it for small gigs when I don't want to take my big stack (only for this it's a live saver). These last gigs were rock'n'roll and R&B old style (with an old pbass) and of course the drummer gets a little excited at the end of the show... No power problems, at all, I never went above 3 or 4 on the volume. I had to figure out how to manage the gain tough, as I experienced some clipping when attacking too much the strings, but lowering a bit the volume on my pbass solved that. The sound is very surprising considering the size of the cube, it's quite fat, precise and fills the room (max I experienced was about 150 m2). I had issues with a nasty sound in the upper mids (I like my sound to be a bit fat AND precise) that I solved by setting the tweeter switch to low. That done, the sound is great. I put the cube on a stand at about 80 cm of the floor.
I had this same experience with my One 800 head and AT210 cab. Horn on low seemed to be the sweet spot to tame harshness on the high end and still retain some articulation up there. I also find that I prefer to dial back the highs and high mids a ways on the EQ to get it to a fat, full sound without any harshness. It is a bit on the sterile side lacking "sweetness" but aside from that, it produces a nice, clear, full sound.
I've actually tried running my Kemper powered head through the AT210 and using a couple of nice bass amp profiles, I preferred that sound to the One 800. Although, the power seems to be a little lacking and the Kemper doesn't fit in my gig bag, so I'll likely be taking the One 800 to gigs just for portability reasons despite preferring the sound of the Kemper profiled bass amps.
Towards August/September we will launch the line of active speakers specific for Amp modellers
My Keyboard player is waiting for one of these....after playing through my GR speakers!

Later versions have been improved. You could update yours too, but you should send your head to the factory.
