GR Bass review

For those who've used the regular, wooden 2x12, what are your opinions of the cab? Does it work well ar low and high volumes? Is it boomy at all? It's there good separation between staccato notes? Would it work well with a 150 Watt tube amp?

This and the GK Neo IV 212 look like interesting mid-size cabs for use with a tube- or moderate-power solid-state hear and are about the same price.

Here are the specs:

I've only had these combos for less than a day, but my immediate impressions are how warm sounding it is for a solid state and it has a stronger midrange than my Quilter BB800 + GR Bass AT 212 Slim rig. I am hoping this will make the sound really cut through in a live situation. I can hear every note very clearly which is making me clean up my playing technique so I don't sound so sloppy, but that is a good thing. The top row of LEDs is multifunctional and very bright, but I read the manual and learned how to select the functions or turn them off. The fan is on the loud side, but again after reading the manual I can set it to turn off for quiet studio applications. At this point I have mostly been playing with the 'Pure' switch on, which bypasses all the tone controls and essentially makes the amp just a power amp, and it sounds really great with all my uke basses. As I write this it is too early in the morning to fire them up again, but I can't wait to play them again.

I am severely enjoying the two custom combos. I have been mostly using the 'Pure' switch setting on both and it sounds great.

Question: Is there a way to slave one combo from the other?? I have tried going out of the effects send to the main input of the slave combo, and the slave combo works great but the master combo mutes itself. I was going to try other things but I feared I might damage something in the process. Any help appreciated!

@GR Bass Staff Sorry if this has been asked before: What is the impedance of the internal speakers on the Cube 350 and 500 combos? Do they get full power to the internal speaker or is there an extra speaker out to power another speaker?

The speaker in the cube 350 is 4ohm, while the cube 500 and cube 800 is 8ohm

I ordered the custom combos thru Sonata Marketing, the USA Distributor for GR Bass. I can't recall the exact cost, but it was hovering around US$2000 before the recent price increase.

I had fun with these two GR Bass AT212s, and now I am ready to sell the "heavy" one on the left (28.5 lbs) and keep the light one (22 lbs). The heavy one is the previous AeroTech 212 version.
I know these are hard to find, so I wanted to let you know that one was available.
$1,500 which includes shipping CONUS.
For Sale - GR Bass AT212, 28.5 lbs
Shipping is expensive because of the size. If you are local to Bethlehem, PA, I can do better.
Soundwise, I am unable to hear a difference.
The difference in weight is from:

• Metal grill vs. cloth
• tolex (and glue) on the top, back, and bottom vs. just carbon fiber (see picture below)

with the new brand GR Guitar we have just launched the FRFR guitar cabinets.
We are completing the design of the FRFR speakers for GR Bass as well, so if you are looking for a specific GR Bass FRFR cabinet I suggest you wait few months.
In any case, all standard GR Bass speakers are designed to reproduce your sound as faithfully as possible.

Active bass cabinets were presented in July and can already be ordered from all our distributors.
Hopefully they will arrive on the US market by the end of January.

They will be included soon along with many other updates.
The timing for the UK market are the same as those of the American market

Why selling? Might be interested in the head. I have the GR Mini and it's a nice little amp. Transparent, simple. I'm guessing the sound profile is similar if not the same.
