I intentionally block fast drivers, just for my own kicks. I admit it.
When someone is working hard to weave traffic or up on my bumper, I do everything I can to trap them in the slowest possible spot. I adjust my speed to keep them there.
I also smoke a lot of weed while driving so I remain calm and unaffected.

I guess I'm a geezer but I stay off the roads during morning & evening commute.
I use to be you, working ,shopping ,gigging. Gigs seemed to be the worst when
you're trying to move gear thru a bunch of drunks.
I do not drive a Buick.

If I'm approaching someone and going faster than they are, I'll pass. Again, if you're in such a rush that something so simple will bother you, perhaps you're the one with the issue and should chill out.
My job definitely depends on speed, but, not in the sense that you're thinking since I do software/automation development. In this field though, I don't get upset and flippant towards folks who aren't as fast as I am (and others faster than me also do not get that way with me).

Sorry you feel you have to constantly rush and be ahead of everyone else. That sounds very stressful.

Geez!

I sometimes feel as though I am the only human in my area working, driving, walking, and generally MOVING with any SPEED whatsoever.

Just trying to get something to eat around here takes forever.

Getting to work I drive on roads with 45 mph speed limits. And these old ladies and geezers in Buicks who have NOWHERE TO BE are cruising around at about 30 mph.

I go to the grocery store and dozens of IDIOTS are just taking up the whole isle having conversations and reading labels directly across from their carts.... totally unaware of their surroundings. And they look at me like I'm some kind of jerk when I say "Excuse me".

And don't even get me started on people at festivals and malls who creep along in a line of half a dozen people or more.... blocking up the whole side so nobody can get through.

I work circles around my co-workers.... not because I am particularly brilliant and/or talented.... but because I MOVE CONSTANTLY. And I do it quickly.

Now, I'm not literally running. I'm not out of breath. I'm not exhausted at the end of the day. But I'm quick and steady.

If you insist on creeping along in your life, do the rest of us a favor and at least stay to the side so you are OUT OF THE WAY.

I knew what awaited me at Costco this morning, so I said forget it and ordered online for delivery.
My Costco order will be here in 1-2 hours. Almost the same amount of time it would have taken me to drive there, shop, navigate the mindless sea of humanity looking for free samples, and drive home.

Prices online are 15-30% higher than in the store.
We've done it a few times now. So far for us, the prices increases have been about 18%.
My order today was $101, so about $18 more than if I went to Costco myself.
That's borderline for us if it is worth it or not, but a few things made it worth it to us today.
First, it is pouring rain down here and I don't feel like going outside.
Second, we bought a few items that were sort of heavy, and I didn't feel like carrying them around in the rain.
Third, there is a Seahawk game this afternoon, so I knew our Costco would be packed to the rim with people shopping frantically for game day treats and snacks.
Fourth, it is Sunday. Our Costco is always packed on Sunday with people who leisurely wander Costco looking for samples and whatever else may catch their eye.
Fifth, it's a 17 minute drive from my house to the Costco parking lot in no traffic and dry roads, so we're talking at least 35 minutes of driving I saved. Definitely more today considering the rain and nasty traffic around the I-5 interchange on Marvin Road.

If we're in town anyway, then we'll go ourselves.

The free sample zombies make me want to punch people in the neck. You gotta be even cheaper than me to try to get a free meal on sample at a time. I'm not lining up for one bite of avocado... ever.

Walmart does it for free. I haven't walked into one in months. Lovely people walk your order to your vehicle and help you load it. I have all but insisted and they won't even take a tip from me.
