Right, didn't think you were knocking her weight or fashion, it's the whole package. The overall visual, be it her weight or the weird faces she pulls and her gigantic mouth, flies in the face of what gets sold to the public, as far as music stars are concerned.

And that's good.

You and me both. Early in the show when the FF were up for an award, I remember thinking "i hope they don't win, they are really quite overexposed."

Nothing personal against Dave, but I liked Lemmy ten times more.

It kind of bugs me that Dave still pronounces Lemmy's surname Kill Meister.
I guess it didn't bother Lem, or he would have corrected him at some point.

I simply don't like Dave Grohl and his ways of trying to befriend every rockstar out there.

Johnny Depp wasn't exactly solid, but I guess he attracts the mainstream audience.

Her talent is being so drop dead beautiful. She's almost perfection.
If I could somehow transplant Katy Perry's chest onto Taylor, I would have made the perfect woman.
Oh wait, someone would have to teach her how to play bass too, and that would be me!@

She's really not my type neither is her music. Perry on the other hand is visually quite pleasing to me.

Re: Jackson Browne and the Eagles.

If I recall correctly from watching 4 hours of a biography of the Eagles, Jackson Browne had the downstairs apartment under Frey and Henley back in the old, old pre-Eagles days. I think those guys go back a long way together and it wouldn't be surprising to see them enjoy working together.

For my part, I thought that Timothy B. Schmidt looked cadaveric, while Joe Walsh looked surprisingly clean and healthy. It'd be nice to think that Joe had some good years left in him. Such a lovely talent.

My impression of the overall show is probably positively biased, since we DVR'd the show while we were out and thus fast-forwarded through the stuff that didn't interest us (that would be most of it).

The Grammys are the most irrelevant of all the self-congratulatory awards shows. I don't know why you guys are surprised or disappointed. It is all contrived to bring attention to the right people at the right time.

The audio sucked - embarrassing for an audio related show that they had months to prepare. Most of the music sucked big time. I could only watch a few minutes of it - it was really dreadful.
