Here is my US Geddy from last Sunday. The bass sounds fine even I did lose my place twice!

Wow. If this is what used USA Geddys are going for, maybe I need to sell mine, order a new one and pocket the difference.

I think that is a new one. Price might be high because they are harder to come by. I hope they haven’t increased by $300 for a new one.

the other one, probably has shipping and ebay/reverb/paypal fees and taxes buried in it...

Here is American Geddy going through a Fodera 2000 outboard preamp I just picked up.

Crap. That likely means mine is delayed as well. I'm starting to think about cancelling. Another thread has me thinking about a Yamaha BBP35 - might be able to get it a lot quicker.

I can always add a GL when the world settles down.

Seems very odd to me that Fender can produce new basses but there is such a long wait for a USA Geddy Lee.
I hope it doesn’t get discontinued .
I know they are essentially special order basses but that’s an awful long wait.
People should grab these while they can.

I was talking to a local Music Man dealer, and what he said about Music Man probably applies to Fender since both are in SoCal. He said COVID is devastating their production because of the need to maintain social distance while producing instruments. The other thing is sickness among workers. If the best fret person or neck finisher is out, it could certainly slow down production of specialty model like the American Geddy Lee.

I just finished my lesson via FaceTime, and my Geddy is my preferred bass for lessons. The little melody I am playing is something that keeps popping into my head. It reminds of the kind of melodies I heard on Roy Rogers films when I was a kid. Does it sound familiar to anyone?

Fender just got back to me. They said that the delays are across all models, so the USA Geddy hasn't been discontinued or anything strange.

I think I'll just be patient. I can always opt for the MIM Geddy if the wait becomes unbearable. But I really want this bass! I've wanted a Geddy Lee Jazz for as long as I can remember.
