The MIM Geddy is sweet, but the American Geddy is perfect in my opinion.
I talked to Sweetwater today about a couple of Fender American Jazz Basses, and delivery dates they quoted were between April and July, so yes, between record sales in 2020 and slowed production, the pipeline is empty for many models. So we wait...

Having owned both, the USA is (to me) the way better choice. It will be worth it.
It's tough to wait. I feel like a 6 year old waiting for Christmas morning...in July!

I know how you feel. There is one listed on reverb that says they do international shipping. They actually had it in store in stock when I last looked.
Yeah, I saw one yesterday - likely the same one - but after adjusting for exchange, shipping, and customs it's going to cost a lot more than the new one. I'll wait. Hopefully it will be here by June. I usually take three weeks off work in July (good weather, birthday), so I'll have lots of time to break it in.
I just wish I could afford getting another jazz bass to fill the 4 string void I have. I'm thinking of getting a 60s jazz in the future.
Yeah, I just got the "delayed until June" notice. I'm tempted to go to the local guy and snag the MIM Player Jazz he has, just to carry me over.
I can't figure out how I'd to explain it to the wife, though...

I will second this. I've owned one for a few months now and it's absolutely amazing. VERY good craftsmanship from Fender. The sound, feel, and build beats out a recent '64 custom shop bass I've been using the past few weeks.
I owned one of the MIJ versions back in '97 or '98 and although it was fun it just doesn't compare with the USA version.
I’ve said it several times that the US Geddy Lee Jazz rivals custom shop build. I think they are one of the best basses Fender has ever produced and find the prices to be very good for what you get. A boutique brand jazz bass might cost more and so will a Fender Custom Shop or Limited Edition but it won’t be a better bass.
I just don’t think there is a better authentic 70’s jazz bass out there. And that includes vintage all original models. If you like a 70’s Jazz .... this is the one to have.
Guitar Center says they have these in stock at the time I’m writing this. Someone buy it/them before I fall to temptation.
