I'm a huge fan of John Sykes' work. I know he's not the most technically proficiant guitarist out there, but I dig his tone and style. For technical mastery I'm partial to Steve Morse or Jeff Beck. On that list I'm going to have to go with Jimmy Page, but Hendrix is a close second. Before deciding he was a blues genius I enjoyed Gary Moore a lot; his work on Thin Lizzy's Black Rose album was great. Yes, Thin Lizzy is where I became aware of John Sykes as well. Or was it Whitesnake?
List - Les Paul = invalid
That is all.
John Lennon and George Harrison weren't even the greatest guitar players in the Beatles.
