GTG - Austin Texas - March 2010!!!!

I'm so glad everyone had a great time! I wish I'd been able to hang out and talk to everyone, but those of you I did meet were all really cool--as I expected, 'cause TBers are a great bunch.:)

Big, big thanks to John and Kyle of Bass Emporium. They went far and above the call of duty in helping us!

Thank you very much, Ed! Great meeting you and seeing you do your thing in person. I expected a lot, given your reputation as a player and a cool dude, and you exceeded my expectations.

I'm back in Chicago now. Although I love it here, I miss Austin already! Such a cool town. I've been down twice before for SXSW, and I plan to come again for that next year. I'm sure it'll be too crazy then to have a GTG, but I hope to hoist a beer or two with you all.

And if any of you should find yourselves in the Windy City, don't hesitate to shoot a PM to Doug and I! One or both of us should be able to hang with you or at least give you some suggestions on where to go. (Set up a Lakland factory tour, seriously. You won't regret it.)

Ha! Understood, Ed. If I lived there, I might hide during SXSW, too.

Doug has the video, I'm sure he and John (Gecko 5, the other LOG honcho) will want to go over it first before posting. Hope to see you in Chicago.

The GTG was one heck of a great time. Is was great meeting everyone. We're very lucky to have a place as cool as the Bass Emporium in town.

MTMTEX's Magnum gave me a serious case of GAS. Seeing Ed show off his chops makes me want to spend much more time practicing. :)

sorry - I spent a few more days in Austin....went to San Antonio on Sunday to see the Natural Caves (AWESOME PLACE!), the Alamo and to visit a friend....Monday my daughter and I went to visit a college...Wednesday was a LONG work day (Tommy - you WILL have to work someday - sorry to tell you!)

today is the first "real day" I could ge ton the 'net!

again - I would like to thank all of you for attending (and for making the effort to drive 3 hrs Tommy!)

BTW - Texas pride is really sumtin!!!

If it were not for you....it would have been a bunch of bass players looking for a good riff to play! you taught us many (and I AM going to get your chord book....2 things I cannot do (besides playing bass) are chords and slapping!)

BTW - stopped by BE on Tuesday before my flight...the place seemed somewhat back to "normal"...I tried out 4 Breedlove acoustics....oh my! trying to decide how much a dog house would cost (in addition) if you know what I mean (gotta fuigure in the "total investment"!)
