Guild Pilot bass club?

Here's my 80's Pilot, I am the only owner; bought it new back then and have been playing it all these years. It's in great shape and is one of my favorite basses. So, can I have a club number?

I had a feeling you were gonna confirm that was the case.
Interesting, I bet the heavily offset waisted J bass shape helps do the trick with a five string neck.
So, the 5'ers are fully Jazzy, not just body shape.
What brand of J5 pickups did they come with?
Even though I've seen most Pilots in a PJ config, I always think of them as P basses.
I guess I think of all PJ basses as P basses!

I suspect you are correct about the heavy offset helping with the balance.

Mine came stock with EMG passive pups that were made in Korea labeled SEJ and SEPJ, however, my understanding is that most were active setups. Also, to pickups are the same size, so finding a replacement set took a little looking, but I was able to pickup a set of SD 67/70 singlecoils here in the classifieds that were a direct fit, definite improvement to my ears anyway.

I'd love to find a five string fretless at some point.

Sounds like a smart move.
Mine is four string and came as a P bass not a PJ.
It came with the stock EMG that Guild was using in their four strings (I think they were USA EMG P's) and it sounds good so it stays stock.
