Guild Pilot bass club?

Thanks. Small confession: I bought #3 last year. Both #2 and #3 are amber.

#3 gets played at gigs/jams frequently, strung with GHS Precision Flats and in mint condition.
#2 will be round wounds. Appears to be be in excellent condition.
#1 ??????????????????

I also owned an advanced pilot 5 string. I think that was number 8.

I woke up this morning to discover that I bought the Guild Advanced Pilot serial #2 at midnight last night after I finished playing and waiting to get paid. Mobile phones and Buy It Now buttons are dangerous at that time of night but hey it's a way cool Pilot.

So that has me wondering, who has serial #1 and/or what color finish is it?

Congratulations...!
I tried to buy that very bass last year...It did not happen because the seller seemed very..."alaskan"...and was asking for more than I was thinking was fair to pay...
May I ask how much you paid...?

If you saw his ad and original asking price, he updated to state that he has a local offer of $800 and would accept other offers above that amount. We settled somewhere in the middle. He said the local buyer will be very upset about this.

I have a few "looking for an Advanced Pilot" ads here and there over the web...He actually found me and offered up the bass for sale, asking what I would be willing to give...I told him I would gladly pay him 800.USD + all shipping costs - I am in Europe - and waited for his response....Kommunication was difficult because he "had no smartphone" and all between us had to therefore go via e-mail...He responded several days later saying he wanted 1000.USD for it...I sent him back an offer of 900.USD + shipping and never heard back from him...I figure he just couldn't be arsed to pack and ship so I left it at that...Obviously, he hung on to it until you bought it...I would have evt. paid him the 1000.USD, but as he didn't reply, I never got the chance...The 1000 bucks went to Ron Estrada at the B.C. Rich Custom Shop instead as part of the payment for an ekstra-special Mockingbird bass instead...Although, I still want that Pilot - SO, when you want to sell it, I will gladly pay you more than you paid for it, plus shipping... I hope you enjoy it as much as I know I would...

Double Neck Pilot.jpg

I am also interested in an unlined fretless 4 string Pilot. Then I saw the double neck, I like that one most. Is anyone the current owner?

I too covet that double neck and would love to know the story behind it...It is the only Pilot doubleneck I have ever seen and the first time I ever saw that foto, my eyes nearly fell out of my head - wauw...

There is another very unique "pickupless" Pilot out there I'd love to own as well - it was under development when Fender bought Guild and squashed the Pilot in a jealous rage to help protect their bloody Precisions & Jazz basses...I have fotos of the prototype somewhere..It was for sale on ebay a few years ago but my monies were tied up at the time.

I can't believe there's still a Guild Advanced Pilot SB-902 listed on the bay. It's been at least two weeks now.

I just got my 2nd one back with a new setup, pickup foam, fret dress, GHS Boomers. It's in great shape.

Bartolinis, ebony fretboard, under 8 lbs. No takers? Wow!
