I was never a big fan of the "foot" - but it's on one I have, on one I'm buying and one I'd like to buy...So, I can live with it...
I am wondering if I will ever get my hands on a Pilot with the "hockey stick" headstock though...

Wauw, that's pretty rough - looks like the early Pilot winged strap pins (which tended to snap like dry twigs they say), and a somewhat mangled Schaller bridge...The back of the neck has been painted - the factory version or the rattlecan special...? Some noticable body damage and the seller does not ship to my country in big red letters - I'd need a middleman...I do have a middleman over there but I try to only disturb him for the really impressive things I can't live without...
Still, if I was closer, I'd drive over for a good look all the same...

Hi to everyone...So, here's a tip for those of you with FOOT headstocks (like gearHed289) who might need or want a new "universal" case for it/them...I've recommended this particular case to others in the past, so I thought I'd share some fotos of it now as I just got another new one in the post the other day...
Optically, it's the closest I've been able to find to an original Pilot case on the outside...Inside, the thick, extra-well padded interior is covered in a nice purple plush - much like the Pro4 & Pro5 Series cases...The manufacturer also covered the hinge gap with the same material covering the exterior and put on 2 lid restraints - nice touches...
This case is ca. 3cm shorter than an original Pilot case, so your Cakeknives won't really fit - yes, you can squeeze it in there but you tip will be pressed hard into the plush and it won't take much to spear it on through, into the wood and cause tip damage so, this case is unfortunately not a good idea for you...*Note to self* - check for Pro4 & 5 fit later today...
This case is also ca. 3cm thicker than an original case - more room for the improved inner padding, I assume...The handle is a very comfortable and is completely sheathed in something "leather-like"...The case has 3 latches with the center latch being lockable and has protective "feet" on both the rear edge and on the bottom as well - another nice touch...! Finally, something good coming out of China...
All in all, it is a very well made, robust and attractive case that looks much more stylish than a black ABS case and offers a much more luxurious touch to protecting your Pilot than any of the ABS cases I have experience with - and it's right around the same price mark as a quality, "brand name" ABS case as well...

How do those sound?
I tried exactly that and pulled them immediately after seeing how the poles don't line up on the P pickup.
Very deep lows, a fair amount of highs, and slightly scooped mids. I put in a small cap across the output jack to roll off some of the highs. The nice thing about the DiMarzios is the adjustible poles on both pickups, so I easily managed to get it balanced.
Wake up, RyanOh & gearHed249 - looks like I've got a 902 in a leg trap - and maybe, just maybe there could be a 604 in the forseeable future as well...
