Weird; I am in the market for a Precision, but the Rosewood necked P just didn't do it for me. I do own and love the Jazz though!

Did you find the p sounding any different than a normal P, like the jazz sounds different from a normal jazz? That's my main concern.

I didn't actually plug it in. Now that I think about it, I had some pretty significant fret sprout and that is why I was turned off. I'll try to get back there and plug it in. But, yes, I would think it would. I feel like my Jazz is a little warmer and less "snappy" than a typical J.

So has anybody bought the surf green P bass? I kinda like that finish, plus the all rosewood neck, and want to try one out but was curious if anybody had any experience with it.

I just snagged the pink Jazz. It's just as beautiful as the pic above by @Polka1 shows it to be. I haven't played it much yet, but I would agree that it has a warmer tone than many Js (a big plus, IMO). It does have a bit of fret sprout, but that can be handled. It's also quite light for a Jazz, another plus.

I believe it's actually engraved into the wood.

Yeah, it's a nice little attention to detail there. I like it.

Don't recall seeing that anywhere else.

Wow what a stunner, grats. Agree on the pickguard, it's the perfect color, it's also just like what would've come from Fender in the early 60's on a shell pink jazz. An obvious homage to Fender's vintage roots, when surf colors were all the rage, and shell pink being one of the rarest. But with a cool twist....the rosewood neck.

I’ve seen one in the wild, a P bass actually. The headstock is rosewood, not black.

Picked up a loaded pick gaurd from a Flea sig. Swapped out the pickups to the pv'64 and to the tort gaurd. Strung with TI jazz flats.

Funkdified beat me to the pics - but why not more pics? Mine is stock except for being strung with Progressives at the moment. Really liking them, they might stay. I have a set of Nordstrand NJ4 70s on the way with the pickup poles radiused to match the fret board radius. Only real issue I have with it is that I'd like to bring the A and D string output up a touch - hoping to fix that and get a bit more with the new pups.
