I want say the GC employee who took this in had a sense of humor and was going for this:

There are two vintage V4Bs on GC.com right now for $599. I just picked up an early V4 off there for $500 ($569 after shipping/tax) the other day. They seem to be selling at no less than $700 on eBay and are all listed around $1k on Reverb.

Not sure why GC is sleeping on V4/V4Bs but definitely some great deals.
Just a heads up if anyone's on the hunt for one!
Some people make ridiculous claims like they were actually made from MIA parts, but they were just MIM basses with cheaper hardware and limited colors.Aren't these "black label" Fenders something special? I don't know. But I dig the one piece pickguard/control plate.

This thing is pretty awesome. It's apparently $900 new. I've always wanted an acoustic with a "real" bridge and if this thing didn't have one too many strings I probably woulda bought it.
