Here's something cheap and weird:

I don't know anything about the bass itself, but it's got Basslines P/J pickups installed, which are basically worth more than the asking price. (Something tells me some of the hardware might not be stock either, like that 'high-mass' gold bridge. Dunno.) For a hundred, and the return policy, you can't go wrong.

This old Epiphone with the reverse headstock is pretty sweet:

There's some decent info out there on these models. If I recall $250 is a pretty good price for one of them these days. Especially for a 5 string 'Custom' model.

I don't know what it is, but I've just been enjoying cheap basses these days. I guess it's just that much better when you know you got a good deal.

Anyways, I purchased this guy yesterday:

I'm 99% sure it's actually a Stagg model. BM350, or something. I don't know where they got the idea it's a Sunstar. I've never heard of that brand.
But I dig the pickup configuration, the body shape/color and the matching headstock. $100 + $25 in tax and shipping.

I found this video and I was sold:

Guy says in the description it's basically just a direct recording. I think it sounds awesome!

Not sure if it'll actually arrive, but I rolled the dice on this one. Should be here in a day or 2

Not sure if this has been covered or not- I've noticed in the recent past that something must have changed in how things are listed. I usually like to browse the basses "Newest First", as I always have. Somewhere along the line, a switch got flipped and now, despite basses coming in frequently, I get a few at the top of the list, then it goes back to the same list as the day before. I know there are new ones coming in, as I also look at them under "Priced Low-High", and there are ones I've not seen before. Anyone else notice this, and have you found a better way to browse?

Yes, I've noticed something funky about that also. If I look all the way through the basses I see stuff I'm 100% sure I've never seen looking at the "newest" every day. I've also noticed that sometimes the "newest" is selected, but if you click on it something else (e.g. "best match") is actually selected until you go to the 2nd page. It's bizarre. When they updated the whole used site, piles of bugs were introduced. Plus, I used to like to right click on the brands I was interested in and "open in a new tab" to view all the used "g&ls", for example. But that no longer works. The only thing I've noticed is that if you sort based on something else, then go back to what you want, it sometimes is less wonky at that point.

edit: In typing that, I realized I probably never changed my "bookmark" in chrome since website changes. Maybe that causes some of my problems.

I wouldn't recommend buying this Godin A4 fretless. Good price but it has a crack in the top that looks like it is going to get worse. I had even called the store to "go over" the condition with them and they told me it was very clean and in excellent condition. Not sure how he would have missed the 4" long indentation and crack in the top. After I returned it to my local GC yesterday, it is relisted the same as before, in "Great Condition".

Lowest prices I've seen at least in a while for the TC and Rumble. I know the Acoustic isn't super nice, but dang, you couldn't home make a empty cab for that price.

Interesting tone settings someone left on that......

I know you're just kidding, but fwiw, I believe you can use their software to change the eq function. At least though, turning down the bass actually cuts a different frequency than turning up the bass, etc. It's a weird system, but makes sense (you might want to cut 40hz but boost 100hz, or whatever). So it might not actually be that weird ;-)
