I'm so done with their coupons (and that's saying a lot, as I've used them a ton). I was buying a yamaha dbr10 and the coupon didn't work, then I noticed there were restrictions, then I found a popup with even more restrictions, so I thought, "Well, I'll just click on the link in the email that says shop for eligible items." Those didn't work either, so what the heck is up with that. Turns out about the only thing it would work on was a "harbinger". I ordered the dbr10 from the guy who used to work for RMC audio. Good price and no funny business.
I got it to work on this Squier 5 string, which is what I was originally looking for Invalid Link Removed
It didn't work on another used identical bass though. It also worked on a used Gibson SG classic. Admittedly I never followed through and bought anything so like I said, YMMV. Sounds like I may have just found a lucky couple of items.

I'm pretty much with you. Anything I've tried to buy this year with coupons did not qualify. Over half last year.
The local GC tried to shoot down the extra 10% for trading in gear recently, because the item was on sale.
Told them to round all my stuff up and cancel the $1200 purchase. Manager stepped in and made it right but still.
They tried to pull the same on another trade in January because of the price-match.Told them not only are they suppose to match said price but "beat" said OTD price...
Let alone the extra 10% off.
Their S&H seems to have went up on used stuff. I looked at a $40 used pedal a few weeks earlier and Shipping was $5.85.
Went to buy it last week and ship in now $10.46. Just a heads up.

I wondering how the SX compares with other value brands such Squier for instance? I see than at great prices and I've heard some on youtube sounding great so it must be a great value.
Having owned several of both brands, I'd say they're about on par with the Squier VM line. Maybe not quite matching up on fit and finish. But very, very good at the price point.
The big deal about this one is the Vintage Series, characterized by the old-style headstock. This line has been discontinued, so you see these same basses used for the price of a new SX from Rondo. $90 is a great bargain for one of these; quite a bit less than a new one, in terms of percentage.
Edit: After a quick search I'm not sure I've got all my details right on the different SX lines. I'm sure someone else knows better than I do. Either way, $90 is a good buy.
I have an SX neck on a parts bass, and an Agile guitar (another Rondo Music brand). The quality is top notch for the price. They don't cut corners.
That Sx w/ the old headstock is hard to pass up for $90...

I sprung on it! After posting the 5 string Squier on Tuesday that you could apply the 15% off coupon for I've been jonesing for a jazz bass (wish I had bought that one). I'll take a shot on this one for the price. Thanks for posting, I'll let everyone know how it is once I receive it.

I also have one of those Squier VMJ5's, in white. I got it for $200 shipped from GC Used.
I put a black control plate on, changed the knobs, installed bigger string guide on the headstock (for the B string), filed the nut a bit and put cheap set of flats on mine. It sounds pretty good and plays well.

Just saw your comment. I didn't even notice the pickups but they definitely look aftermarket. That was for sure a good score.
Got the SX bass yesterday. Long story short: it's a heck of a deal for $90!
Long story long: the pickups are EMG J HZ passive pickups complete with the no solder electronics. They sound good, pretty transparent, quiet.
The neck is nice, frets are good, etc. The neck is vintage amber tinted, which makes it a weird match with the body color. I attached a bunch of photos for you all to see.
It's very clear that it's not an SX body, I posted a photo of the stamp in the neck pocket in case anyone knows who may have made it. The pickguard was cut to fit so it's not a factory guard. Also the pickguard screw holes were not even. Very much a custom job that someone did. I assume it was a just a body that someone picked up and made into a parts bass with the SX neck.
It sounds good though, I may eventually part it out and keep the body with a different neck, as I prefer P necks. For now I'm going to rock it as is! Thanks again for the score RyanJD

Hm. Neck pocket truss rod access in the body? Interesting. It looks like an aftermarket mod though.
The body color and grain looks really similar to a Squier VMJ I once owned. Mysterious!

That truss body access looks like a home made job, not factory and since the SX neck adjusts at the headstock then one can assume this body had a different neck on it before.
I agree it looks like a VM Squier body, compare the routes to this. Large neck pickup route and no route between it and the control route.
Squier Vintage Modified 70's Jazz Bass BODY
Yeah, it's a roughly made neck pocket mod. They put some thin wood shims in there to cover it up. I think a Squier VM looks pretty accurate. I could measure the pickup spacing to see if it's 70's spacing. I owned a VM 70's before (black). The color is right on to the natural ones I've seen. My assumption is they wanted a white pickguard on there so they bought something cheap aftermarket that they had to carve down to size, the whole didn't exactly line up so they just put them in at an angle, which explains why that looks rough.
Depends on the store where the used item is. Some are better than others.
