Typical useless GC description and pics, but the price is good for a neckthru Modulus
The Carle Place NY store has a beautiful carvin LB90 fretless. Koa top. Unlined board. $400 no case and on police hold till the 6th, but it's a beauty.
This turned out to be the standard bolt-on neck version, not the neck-through version.
That stinks. Is it nice enough to consider keeping, despite being advertised incorrectly? If so, perhaps GC could refund you accordingly.

How's the Hofner?
I really like it so far. Quite a bit different than anything else I've ever played before!
Great! I played my Hofner CT today as well, it is one of my favorite basses. Super easy to play, vintage thump and huge bottom end. Any idea what kind of strings it came with?
I'm almost certain they're Hofner (LaBella) Beatle Bass flats. They sound and feel terrific.
Those taper to the core wire after the nut and are light blue silk. Great strings.

Out of curiosity I called and asked about it. It's the MIJ (or CIJ?) model and they claim it works perfectly and only needs new strings. I highly, highly doubt that's the case.
I've accepted the fact that anyone you get on the phone at a GC is either a liar or an idiot. Not every time, but 9 out of 10. It's still a fantastic resource for buying used because of the return policy.

Can't argue this.
Currently waiting on the brown truck to drop off my latest GC purchase...
While the Marcus electronics aren't simple, they certainly aren't nearly as complicated as a lot of other systems.
The problem that I can foresee with GC trying to claim that it works fine could mean that the EQ isn't on and the passive signal is working fine.

If you call a GC try to get their "tech" on the phone if they have one and have them go through everything from truss to saddles on it. Odds are you still get someone who has no idea what they're doing but it skews slightly more in your favor.

That's a really nice color. But, is it just me or do the saddles look skinny? Isn't that a sign of a Squier? And no standard Fender jazz's come with P knobs, but some Squiers do.
