I just came very close to buying this but I stopped myself cuz I know shortscales with skinny necks don't work for me. This is about $200 less than it should be. There isn't a picture but I got a guy on the phone that doesn't sound like a dishonest moron, and based on his description, it's a steal. It is indeed the contemporary with the zero fret and the sound block in the body. Someone should buy this.

Just snagged it! Assuming the condition is as described by the GC employee you spoke with, this should be a good find. I've been on the lookout for a decent price on a "Beatle" bass for awhile now. Thanks, much appreciated Gorn!

Oh San Marcos...they're one of my "problem" stores. Bought a T-40 with case for $100, didn't see it for a week so I called for tracking and they said they had just shipped it out the day before...TO SOMEONE ELSE! They sold it again a week after they completely charged my card for it, I got my money back but still pissed of course. I've got more tales of that store but they all end up in the same place, they're not very smart over there, must be something in the water.

I recently paid $5 extra for "expedited shipping" from NJ to SoCal. They didn't ship for 3 days and then it took a week. Still, it was only $16.53 I think for store-to-store. Hard to get too upset about that.

Picking up tonight after work. MIJ '75 reissue Jazz in natural ash with pearloid blocks on maple fretboard. Fingers crossed!

It's '90s and very sweet. This bass has gonads! Light too. Black PG purchased, not yet installed. The rest of my jazz basses had better worry. Except the oly white '62 AVRI. :)

I am sure you are going to love it! LaBella Beatle flats will make it come alive.

My pleasure! According to the GC rep I spoke with, it's already strung up with flats and supposedly in great condition. It is, however, missing the pickguard. I'm not sure what I'll do about that just yet.

On a side note, that SB2 tribute (see above) would compliment my SB1 quite nicely!!! Great price on that as well. This thread gets me in so much trouble....

A big thanks to Gorn and everyone else who "scouts" for these awesome deals :bassist:
