Don't apologize for the playing - you sound much better with the bow than I do.
How do the guts compare in your opinion to any steels you may have had on the same bass?

I've been playing with oliv G and D on top and just ordered gamut G and D to replace them because i keep listening to mingus thinking... whoa what bottom on that F on the D string. Hopefully they will work with the bow otherwise I will replace them back with my beloved Olivs.
I have Animas on right now with a Gamut D and they have a lot of the punch of gut if not more, much of the warmth, yet they are more easily heard in a wide variety of situations, stay more in tune, are easier on my hands, and are easier to bow.
I find gut strings extremely rewarding on other peoples' basses.

but not on yours? lol![]()
