I think there IS a knee-jerk reaction many men have, to say they don't notice if other men are good-looking, because they're afraid that if they do acknowledge it, their straightness would come into question. Deliberately posting on the thread to emphatically assert such a lack of awareness, when they could have just scrolled past, suggests to me that this is what's going on for some.
I think we tend to oversexualize everything in our culture. Beauty is beauty, wherever it's found, and it's a good thing that we should appreciate and be thankful for.
