Has any one regretted selling a certain bass?

Steinberger XP-2 - in 1989, to buy something else, I believe one of the way too many Fender jazz I owned through the years, I don't recall the model though...
The XP-2 was an incredible instrument, really great tone, perfect for recording.
THE GOOD NEWS is that i bought another XP-2 last week! from serial number should be an '85 - the amazing thing is still almost new,just a few light scratches on it, and still has the fantastic graphite neck intact,straight as a laser beam and with tons of tone...!

Alembic/Modulus, looked like a p bass with a koa body, Modulus neck and Alembic electronics. It was a great bass still kicking myself about that one.

Mid '80's Hamer Cruise bass, possibly the best bass I have ever owned, at least it went to a good home which was my biggest influence on me as a bassist: Jason Pike of Phoenix AZ, unreal player!!!!!

1976 Musicman Sting Ray -sold it to buy a korg synth which I no longer have. At least my brother still has the bass, so it isn't too far away.

I know you'll laugh, but I had the one Epiphone Accu Bass that didn't suck horribly, and I ended up trading it and an Ampeg BA115 for a Peavey ValveKing 2x12.

Not only did I eventually hate the Peavey amp (though I got a Fender HotRod Deville out of a trade with it!), I saw my exact bass being sold by the guy for over a hundred more than I paid new. If it hadn't been for that moronic price increase, I might have bought it back.

A 2008 Epiphone Thunderbird IV, I sold it because my bedroom is small and I didn't really have room for the big case and it was a little too heavy for me and I wanted to try to get a different bass.

In the mid-90s, I bought a '74 Precision with the finish stripped off, 1-pc maple neck bleached from hand sweat, all the bolt-on upgrades you can have (including a brass nut). Man, did that thing sound good!

Then I got in my head I wanted a pretty bass, so I got a '78 Precision 'Blondie' that looked positively virginal. It never sounded half as good as the other one.

I still miss that ugly thing.

I knew I would kick myself later but around '92 I sold my '63 P/bass, my stand up, my '73 Guild JS bass and my Ampeg Baby bass and numerous amps because I was so disgusted with myself for not playing. I have recovered somewhat though and had a 63 Pbass made by J Kallas.

traded in my '74 Precision for a used '64 Jazz back in '81, kind of miss the '74 but think I got the better end of the deal...

what I really miss is the '61 Blonde Bassman 50 head.... letting that one go was really stupid

back in the eighties i had a white headless 5 string ibanez axstar. i sold it for what i paid for it, but to this day i have no idea why i did so. it was such a cool, small bass and with it's tight string spacing i'm sure i could have found some alt bass usage for it.

'74 Fender P rosewood board, Ash Natural, stock....purchased off of a band mate and did most of my playing in late '70's to mid-80's before graduating and joining the corporate world...Was squeeking through last terms in school so sold it for tuiton or books....should have NEVER sold it....Was a light one and pure Precision bliss...oh well...
I was fortunate to have secured off of Ebay several years ago a '99 version of her that I swapped tuners (Grover 28:1) and pickups (Seymour Duncan SPB-2). This one is a little lighter that closely cops the feel, tone and playability that I plan NOT to sell...

I kind of regret selling my first bass, a '74 Fender Musicmaster just for nostalgia sake but really not into short scale instruments so don't miss nearly as much as the P.

Last year I sold a 2000 Fender AM Jazz that I throught I would NEVER sell, the neck was too thin for me and it was a bit heavier for my liking these days. I don't really miss her.

I do regret not buying a great playing Fender CS Jazz a couple years ago. I had a Sadowsky on order at the time so thought I had it covered. Well, I opted not for the Sadowsky and should have circled back for the CS....could'a should'a, would'a....

I'm extremely happy with current lineup which is more then adequate for my needs..

I am about to sell the first bass I've had, Washburn Lyon '95 (or 96) so my instruments won't take too much space in the house (I've just got a new short scale).

Since it was my first and only bass to date (more than 12 years), you can imagine I am emotionally attached to it. I am regretting it already.
