They sound great...and I don't usually like bridge pickups soloed. Can't wait, man.

Sorry David, as much as I absolutely agree with you, your choice of wording is poor.
I'm picking up a "Your opinion doesn't matter because you don't have as much experience as I do" vibe from this post.

Sorry, but Delly demonstrated that he has little knowledge of the pickup industry. That was my point. He said all the pickup makers I listed are mass produced. That steamed me up.

Yes, I see why you felt that way but your post seemed unnecessarily rude.

There's no need to get so defensive and douchey over someone simply being misinformed about who mass-produces versus who hand winds. He wasn't argumentative or anything, he just made a simple statement which turned out to be incorrect.

I don't want to argue with you about this or anything, we're on good terms, so I'd like to keep it that way.

He is one of my customer he posted here .do not requirer them to know every thing about pickup building.no wrong if he is excited about his pickups. please take a look at the Guy he is a good guy and a awesome bass player.

Whether or not you intended it, you did come off sounding rude, at least in my opinion.

But again, I don't mean to pick a fight with you about this. I agree completely with what you said, just not so much with the way it was worded. Big Dad did skip right over what you said about the mass produced pickups, and that would piss me off as well.

I agree. I hope everybody can play nice now - it's so much easier to be accepting or at least pleasant, than to attack each other.

I've known James Reed since our earliest discussions about my pickups, and he's just like that - a brilliant engineer, but not so good with words. I got a look at Delly after this thread began, and found that the way he writes is just the way he writes. Jumping to conclusions after only two posts started an unnecessary battle four pages long. Let's try to be passionate about our music and our gear and forget the strong emotions when it comes to other people's opinions.

End of rant. Going to practice now.

Hey SGD, my bad for sliding through your comments about all the pickups being mass produced....That just slipped. No harm intended to you. Funny how I turned into spam and a Blockhead at a seconds notice!
To this day, I have never met Jim, other than talking to him on the phone about my order, and yeh, he makes a great product that really works for me. I may be misinformed about some products out there, but blockhead, I'm willing to let slide by, since you don't know me.
In todays world, its great that you guys have a talent to make great sound from what you have learned, and are willing to share your talent with the music world. Keep it up!

Thank you for starting this Thread getting a lot of emails and also hundreds of visits to my website directly coming from this thread. Not to mention how my customers are going to bat for me Wow. Although at this point my view of talk bass as a new member is very low, we will see how that change’s as time goes on. Thanks

Remember way back in the day, when some poor poster asked if anyone had any actual experience with Reed James Custom Pickups?

Well, I'm here to say I actually do.

Awhile back I had Jim build me a couple of replacement pickups for my ailing Aria Pro II SB-R80. So, what do I think of them? I've done tons of recording since then and my clients marvel at the tone. Sure, the Aria itself has a lot to do with that, but the pickups are certainly significant as well. Jim's attention to detail was excellent.

I was turned onto him by the person from whom I purchased the Aria in the first place. He was a bass/guitar player and collector and he positively RAVED about Jim's products. (And this was from tons of experience comparing over twenty different replacement pickup products.)

So, now I am also passing on my endorsement. You should really give them, and him, a try.
