Hate the new SX headstock?

I've seen lots of hate for the new SX headstock, and while I also prefer the old headstock I have to ask this question to everybody who says they're not buying an SX because of the new headstock:

Well what other $100 bass will you be buying? Or are you just doing to not buy anything? Or are you going to add another $200 to buy a Squire? I would love to know of a better $100 bass, and I'd also like to know why the headstock shape is such a big deal?

I'm not in the market, but ...

I'm not wild about the headstock, but it wouldn't stop me from buying. I'd enjoy the bass a Little less, but, just a Little. Definitely wouldn't stop me though.

I Do think they could have done a better job with that headstock, though.

i bought one ursa when they were initially offered, but i just don't care much for it. the body is identical in every way (p-style) to the previous models, but that headstock is a real buzz-kill. i'm holding onto it, hoping i can find a replacement neck with the lakland-style headstock. its all mental, obviously, but i just can't get past it...

Placed an order for a non-Ursa-headstock SX this afternoon (SJB-57 Sunburst:hyper:). I've been debating whether or not to purchase a SX for several years; seeing the old headstock phased out finally prompted me to action. I don't hate the new headstock, but I sure prefer the old one...

Still the best $100 bass out there.
Liked the old headtsock better but some of the new ones (LPB) come with painted headstocks which is very cool
I've got 2 SX's now; if I buy another cheap bass it will be a CV Squier but only if it seems noticeably higher in quality

The newer one reminds me of some other cheaper basses. Idk, but the old one disguises its cheapness because its headstock resembles Fenders, EBMMs, Laklands, etc.

Some people are strange like that (myself included). The design of the headstock will influence our perception of the bass. There was a thread on this a while ago, about small aesthetic details that people care about.

Despite the fact that I just bought the fretless with the old headstock, I think the new shape works very well. Especially when they are painted.

It also works as it is, especially on a P/J and some of the bursts.

Personally I don't think the new shape will alter the sales very much. For every one of us that wants only the old headstock, there will be another new person to take their place.

And like I said before, when I bought my first SX the complaint was the headstock we are all used to now was labeled as too big, a "boat paddle" etc...

And I still stand by the buying of a whole bass just to get the loaded body for a mod platform....especially if a fella has a fender style (Mighty Mite etcc) neck laying about and hates the new headstock.
