I wanna try one of those too. I have a TH500 and want a Berg NV610. That's why I'm selling. With one in college, one going next year, I sell/trade to acquire. We ain't poor, but I feel better that way.

One thing that frosts me is the "if it's not a Heritage it's just not good enough anymore", or the "made in China"

When was the last CL (outside of the oh so sainted Hertitage line) made in the US...'03? So a 13 year old head is better?

Wait'll I try to sell the Hydrive...Hartke's another "just not good enough" brand around here. If it was 4ohm I'd be set, it's crisp.

I'm sure it was posted a bunch through the thread but they're abundant amps and it's a buyer's market. There's one on my local craigslist that's been there for a looooong time but he's asking over market. I've seen at least 4 or 5 others come up and sell (or at least the listings disappeared) at much lower prices.

Some people are definitely moving the class D direction. Some people aren't. I have more tube amps now than I did when I bought my first class D, despite having to move amps several times a week.

Ampeg HE. The gigs here aren't big enough for the 8x10 so it stays put in the space til then.

Just runs at 2/3 power.....and tubes life is shortened but 3 yrs hasn't been an issue.

I will choose tone over convenience every day of the week. But I'm also practical so I use both a tube amp (V4B) and a Jule Monique/M700.

I also have been known to carry my old GK MB (metal) combo or just show up with a countryman in my gig bag. I've also played a gig with a single 210AV and as much as an 810.

To me, playing in a variety of situations, this is versatility. Having choices given the situation and being able to make it sound great is what matters not the number of knobs or jacks.

As for the bickering it makes little difference what other people use I'm very happy with what I've got.

Hmm. Now that's an interesting proposition. An extremely versatile amp that fits in your gig bag vs a huge, not as versatile amp, that may well be about half the weight of a traditional svt but 6 times the weight of this more versatile tiny amp.

oh the drama , nobody outside this forum gives a flyin F**K what Jimmy M or anyone else plays through, I play what I like ..... you play what you like. I've played through most everything in the last 45 years, the differences are minimal at best IMO.

though I do remember not liking those aluminum speakers much, Hartkes I think. But other than that its all good with me as long as it doesn't blow up in the middle of a gig.

I still prefer my tube amps to anything.

Every few years I'll check out the latest greatest in light weight stuff but it never quite stacks up. Complexity, articulation, depth, nuance, choose your tonal buzz words.

I'm (relatively) young. I don't mind weight. If I'm ever injured or develop medical conditions that preclude heavy gear, or just get too old to haul it, Class D amps will still be there. But for now, I'm going to play big tube amps while I still can.

The deal is that in my line of work I pick up heavy stuff all day long. Stuff heavier than a tube amp. So when time comes to pick up a tube amp and load in the truck its second nature. I really never give much thought.

I also have stated this many times before. "I never heard of weight being an issue until Oct 28, 2013

I guess the question is...... If those who do not want to tote heavy loads had someone else to tote it for them, would they still rather use a micro or a heavier tubed amp?

I do think that cabs have come a long way in the "Bang for your buck" arena. I have witnessed two 12's topple 810's.
