Have you ever been HIT by your drummer? I'm not talking about thrown sticks....I mean smacked like you're a drum....

It happened to me Saturday! We're playing Wild Thing (The Runaways version) and during the 'Rockstar' ending my drummer smacks me on the right arm...OUCH!

I looked at him and IMMEDIATELY knew I had screwed something up and that he was trying to communicate with me. But what was it? Then I realized my mistake - the sliding notes that I was supposed to play and that the entire band keyed off of to end the song (there was not supposed to be a 'rockstar' ending). By then, everybody had started to make up their own ending, so we just let the song die.

At the break, I showed the drummer the big fat welp on my arm....he felt really bad about it...but I think it's cool! It'll teach me to not screw up!

I used to get hit all the time. Our drummer at the time was bad about breaking sticks (like 4 pairs a night bad) and they would always break about the same spot halfway down and fly and hit me either in the side or back of my head. It's kind of distracting when you're fronting but I got used to it after a while. I used to stand on his kick drum and dance while playing every now and then so I didn't mind so much, figured it all evened out in the end. I got hit with drumsticks and he had to endure the humiliation of watching me shake my a$$ on his kit a couple of times a show.
He knocked over a lighting tree on one of our guitarists once.
Good times, gooooood times...

When I was 17 years old, a girl my drummer was seeing kept coming on to me. Somehow I wound up going to see Star Wars with her. When the movie started she jumped in my lap and we made out the entire movie. He found out. I may have actually told him. I couldn't deny being totally in the wrong. I told him to punch me in the face and we'd be even. He did. Hard. Our friendship, needless to say, was never the same.

I don't do things like that anymore. He wound up (20 yrs later) killing 2 people and then himself, so he doesn't do anything like that anymore either.

Ive only had one drummer hit me intentionally, and not with his stick.
We were finishing our set, and I was way into it. My foot got caught around my cable and I tripped and fell into the drum kit.
He thought I jumped into his kit on purpose and he socked me a good one.
Later I hammered out the bent rod in his hi-hat for him. We were still cool after that.
