No pics yet.....party foul!!! I bought my L-2500 in 2001. Sunburst with maple board. Since then I've owned several basses, factory, custom, whatever. I pickup this bass and it has a certain something no other bass I've played has. I'll never sell it. I play my other basses but when gig time rolls around this one's home to me.

I always enjoy seeing pics of your P. Great bass... oh, and great shirt, too. One of my favorite Earle records. Fort Worth Blues, written about the late great Townes Van Zandt, is one of my favorite songs. :cool:

I'm probably too much of a bass whore to settle on just one bass, but this one, which I've had for less than a week, may well be as close as I'll ever get. It's just about perfectly suited for what I want. It can also be configured as a Jazz bass (has a pickguard and a J pickup which can be swapped for the P) which gives it even more possibilities.

Still, I'll never sell my Steinberger XL-2, my Reverends, or my Dark Star P bass if I can help it. They each have their unique strengths and tone. While my new Sadowsky is almost certainly going to be my favorite over the long haul, I like to change things up too much to be "wedded" to one bass. Heck, I've been married for ten years. A guy's gotta have some variety in life. :ninja:

You might say that the Sadowsky is going to be my "wife," but I'll always keep a few concubines around for variety's sake. :p

I got really, really lucky with my first Elrick, an e-volution singlecut fretted 5 that I've had for 3-4 years now. My wife was going to get me a bass for our first anniversary present with a limit up to $1800 that I would add a little on top of. I was about to place an order from a store when I decided to try to email the owner of this Elrick- I had seen it on TalkBass before and it was the best-lookinig bass I'd ever seen. I didn't think there was a chance he'd sell it or that it would be in my price range, but he was and was willing to sell for $2400. Having never played an Elrick before, I didn't know if I'd like it.

Turns out it was by far the most comfy bass I'd ever played, and fit me perfectly in pretty much every regard. Now all of my basses are Elrick e-volution singlecuts. To this day it's still the bass I judge all others against. There are different attributes that my other Elricks have that I enjoy, but this one will probably always be tops.
