...are we a bunch of perverts???
I have no name for it. Maybe I'll name it once I own two or more basses at the same time (and the others too).

Here are some of the names I've given to my current basses:
'slim dude'
'fat lady'
'black mamba'
'turkey boy'
'blonde chick'
they're more like nicknames than names.
you should really hear the 'fat lady' sing! it's a 2.25" thick chambered alder with figured maple top and back, maple neck and fretless stabilized ebony fingerboard. ....she really MWAHs!

This bass used to go by the name "Bass of Doom", but with the recent signing of it by my girlfriend, it has been renamed "Becka's Bass"

my basses had names but over the while they turned into the nick-names
fender jazz V; "the anchor"( due its weight)
takamine abg; "ol' bessie"
mia p-bass; "boom stick" (or bettie due to the bettie davis sticker on it)
I also have a strat but it's not special enough to get a name

The answer for me is no, though I probably should as I think of each of my basses as unique people with unique personalities. I think I have probably not named any because 1) as your relationship changes with your bass, so might the name you give it so why commit now? 2) I associate each of my basses with the music/songs I have created with it and those songs already have names and 3) how can you sum up everything a bass gives you with just one name?
Make sense?
