Having BassCliff Gig Report Withdrawals

I had to force myself to sit down and play. My problem is there's no sense of urgency. There isn't anything I have to get polished up for Friday night, you know? Fortunately, I have become, in my old age, a huge fan of Chic. And Jerry Barnes, who replaced Bernard Edwards in the bass chair. Goldang he's amazing! So I'm working on Get Lucky--easy changes, crazy fills!

Last night we were talking about playing upright bass. I know @Holdsg plays upright quite often. I have off and on but I don't currently own one. I tried to play a video for @dbase, @nixdad, and @McG while we were Zooming but you can't hear the audio when you share your screen through Zoom. So I thought I'd post it here for everyone to heckle.




A friend let me borrow one of his standups and I took it to a couple of gigs. All I can say is we survived, we all ended on the same stage.

Sounds like fun, wish I could join in but my rig unfortunatly doesn't have a camera. My family want to do the same thing....we did manage a conference call last week just to check in and see how everyones doing.

Unfortunately webcams have gotten expensive in this stay-at-home season, doubled in price at least. You missed a pretty good meeting tonight.

Top row: @dbase, the old country bass player, and @WI Short Scaler.
Bottom row: @ak56 , @McG , and @Holdsg. We shared old gear, old pictures, old stories, etc. ak56 had a nice project in the works. WI Short Scaler had a couple of basses with nice art work. Fun stuff!
