Having BassCliff Gig Report Withdrawals

Hi Scott,

Unfortunately webcams have gotten expensive in this stay-at-home season, doubled in price at least. You missed a pretty good meeting tonight.

Top row: @dbase, the old country bass player, and @WI Short Scaler.
Bottom row: @ak56 , @McG , and @Holdsg. We shared old gear, old pictures, old stories, etc. ak56 had a nice project in the works. WI Short Scaler had a couple of basses with nice art work. Fun stuff! Let's do it again soon. Anyone else want to join in? Just PM me an email address and I'll send a Zoom invite.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
Sorry I missed last night's session guys. I look forward to joining the next one!

I agree totally with this. It was a good time. @WI Short Scaler and I got to show off our '78 Musicmasters.
Nice! Sorry I missed it. I started off with a '77 myself:

These National Bassmigos meetings are fun. Thanks for running point on them Cliff!

It was a good conversation, nice to put some personal perspective with people we'd only seen photos of before.

Thanks for the invite!

It really is fun doing face to face chats. Thanks Chris and Arnie for joining in. :)

We missed you Chris. Hope to see you next time. :)

I should have had my nephew set me up with one of those when he was here getting my Windows 10 up and running. I have a really nice Vizio High Def monitor but alas no camera.

Hey Scott. Amazon has webcams in the $20-25 price range. Probably not the highest definition for a techie but good enough for bass players I'm sure. ;)

I was floored when you said you had one, a '78 to boot. Funny that we both had that black pearl pickguard too!

We can show 'em off again if we can all make the next one. They are a rare breed in when it comes to basses I think.

I've seen many of your gig reviews, great to chat with you!

Thanks Grant - looking forward to the next one!

It would be great to see them. I sold mine decades ago when I got my first P-Bass, however, we do have a '71 Mustang I bought 30+ years ago.

Hello again,

While I'm here, let me share a couple of video memories that I posted to the Facebooks today. The first is Kelly singing "Don't Stop" recorded on my little point-and-shoot camera. My dear departed friend Jeff and I geek the camera hard at one point. Please pardon the lousy sound but hopefully you will enjoy the fun. :)

This next video features Jeff singing a Zac Brown song, "Whiskey's Gone", just about my favorite 10-step. This was recorded with my Zoom Q2HD sitting on the sound console out front. The soundman, Mark, was keeping an eye on it.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Looking forward to another zoom meeting with the bass-amigos tonight.

Cliff's videos are always light years ahead of our small corner of the world, but I'll play anyway. This was from last summer in Bayfield WI. The Tues night concerts are so much better attended when they are outside in the city square gazebo but it was a rainy and cold night last year so we were in the Madeline Island Ferry Terminal. It was still lots of fun. We're hoping they give us a slot this summer, if there are any that is.

That's Mrs WI Short Scaler waving in the video! The guitarists wife was shooting the video.

Playing my Squier Musicmaster in this one.

The last song of the night.

Love it! Thanks for posting @WI Short Scaler!
I love the bass playing and the laid back vibe. Well done!

Today the ANB did not play Disneyland.
There was no traffic getting to the not-gig.
The food was memorable but served at multiple locations where the band members live.
The crowd was sparse but enthusiastic.
