Having BassCliff Gig Report Withdrawals

Hi,

Shoot. I’d say most of us (myself included) would love to at least listen in...it would be nice to actually hear some of you talk too lol.

Sorry I was so late with your email invite. Hopefully you can join us next time. We're still going right now, until about 9pm local time.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi!

We had a special guest join us this evening. It's Robert Plant's brother, Potted Plant.

Looking forward to another zoom meeting with the bass-amigos tonight.

Cliff's videos are always light years ahead of our small corner of the world, but I'll play anyway. This was from last summer in Bayfield WI. The Tues night concerts are so much better attended when they are outside in the city square gazebo but it was a rainy and cold night last year so we were in the Madeline Island Ferry Terminal. It was still lots of fun. We're hoping they give us a slot this summer, if there are any that is.

That's Mrs WI Short Scaler waving in the video! The guitarists wife was shooting the video.

Playing my Squier Musicmaster in this one.

The last song of the night.

Am I missing something, I didn't see any food ;)

Too much fun last night, guys. It was great to finally meet Chris from Wisconsin and Arnie from Washington as well.

I just got back from a work related issue. The person who does my job at a close by Navy base has COVID and I was requested to handle an issue that was urgent in their stead.

Apologies all around.
Completely understandable, Nate. We hope you are well and look forward to you joining the next one if possible!

Hey Bill - if those guys had joined we'd still be on the call! :roflmao:

You're right, #1 I'm a slacker and #2 there wasn't any anyway.

Great speaking with you as well Chris.

An understandable reason to miss the meeting, no harm no foul. I'm sure we'll do some more.

Props to Cliff again for setting these up. Sorry if I talk to much, my music room is more like a memory room and I get on tangents.

Potted plant!

Hello friends,

We had a very nice GTG on Thursday evening. It's turning into a regular thing. Please, if anyone else would like to join just send me an email address via PM and I'll send you an invitation to the next one. It looks like Thursdays at 7:30pm (Pacific Time) is our regular time.

In the meantime, here are a couple of gig video memories. This is from our big show at Disney in the summer of 2014 when we performed the music of ABC's series "Nashville".

One of my favorite covers that I haven't done since I left the KRB, "Home Sweet Home" by The Farm. This was recorded at The Ranch the summer of 2015. Looks like we have a little choreography going on. ;)

I finally got around to watching this video. What a great trio you have there! The musicianship and vocals are top notch! I hope we're all back gigging soon. I kinda miss it. ;) Hope to see you again next Thursday. Anybody else want to join us? :)

Gettin' into Motown territory. ;)

Hi Grant,

Just to set the record straight, this show featured Stephanie Renee Wall with Kelly Rae. I know. It's hard to keep up with all the lovely ladies I work with. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Ah! I guess I can't keep up with them either. You're a lucky dog.

Again, green with envy for the gigs you get. Very cool!

He does seem to always be surrounded by some very attractive and talented females! :smug:

Hey there friends and neighbors,

Here's the first of my two video gig memories for this evening. This band worked 20 dates a month all through the 90s all over So. Cal. We had a blast. Then DUI laws changed, clubs changed, and we played mostly weekends only until 2010 or so. I love Bob Ryan (git), Rick Schmidt (steel/midi git), Rick Kurianski (drums), a.k.a. The Runnin' Kind. (That's right, Merle Haggard named a song after us.) This was at a Palm Springs "snowbird" resort in 2015. Every once in a while we get together for a "reunion" gig.

Here's the second of my gig memories for today. The True Willie Band always opens our show with this song and I LIKE it. Here we are at the Orange County Fair in 2017.

I hope you guys have more gig memories to share. I think they're fun! Let me know if you have any requests. No "Freebird"! :roflmao:

Hi,

Just for grins and giggles, here's a bonus memory for this evening. This is also from our "Nashville" show at Disneyland, summer of 2014. "Telescope" was the opener.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Great showmanship throughout Cliff.

Here's a memory from a few years ago in our acoustic frame of mind. Not the big time set up as Cliff's above ;) but it was a fun place to play on a nice Saturday afternoon. I think @nixdad was in attendance at this one.
