Yep - I realized a few years back in trying to nail Paul's tone, attack and phrasing that playing with a pick was necessary on a lot of their tunes. Flat wounds are a must as well!

I don’t know about Bassclif, but I certainly am suffering from the lack of gigs.
Not only gigs, I'm missing just the camaraderie of practice as well.
I think BassCliff should start doing reports about things he IS doing during quarantine- BassCliff's breakfast report, BassCliff does laundry, BassCliff pulls hair out of shower drain.

One of the obligations of celebrity is keeping us informed, entertained, and up to date. Imagine if he poked his head out after the madness and nobody knew who he was. Heartbreaking!

As a matter of fact, I am going a bit stir crazy. But I'm enjoying game nights with family, binging Netflix with Mrs. BassCliff, plus I helped Mr. Johnny Magic Fingers tear down the ADA ramp that was on his front door. That was two afternoons of hard manual labor. I'm still sore. I know. I should've taken pictures. Sorry.
I suppose you may have enjoyed my daughter touching up my roots. My hairdresser is "non-essential" to some folks. Not to me!
We had another excellent Zoom GTG tonight. We even went international when @Bassed in NZ joined us. Thanks Matt! It was great having you. We'll do it again next Thursday evening. Please join us on Zoom, just send me your email in a PM and I'll send you an invitation to join our little get together.

Hello my friends. I want to apologize for not posting any gig video memories yesterday. Like I said, these are "somewhat" daily. But here's the first of this evening's memories. This song is always a crowd pleaser, always fun, and I love the audience participation.
Hello my friends. I hope you are all staying healthy and our God is blessing you richly. Here is my second gig memory video for this evening. I used to do a LOT of Lady Antebellum songs with Kelly Rae and this band had really tight vocal arrangements (especially when I could remember all the words). We had a ton of fun.

Another excellent Zoom GTG last night, and so nice for Matt @Bassed in NZ to join us! Discussing our shared experiences, gear, gigs and more is a nice break from this downtime we're all going through. Thanks Cliff @BassCliff as always for hosting!
Per some of the conversations we had last night -
Chris @WI Short Scaler - here's just one example of a Serek Bass that I mentioned on the call last night. These guys are just south of you in the Chicago area, have great designs, and make lots of short scale instruments:

Here's the picture of Metallica with Jason Newsted wearing our shirt. This was taken backstage at the L.A. Coliseum after their Monsters of Rock performance in '87 or '88. He played an all black with gold hardware Wal MkI at the time (ala Geddy Lee.) We just happened to be sitting about 10 feet to the right when this shot was taken.
For those of you have have not yet joined one of our Thursday night GTG's - you're all invited, so please let us know if you can join and @BassCliff will provide a link. We're looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks Gents - a pleasure to hang out and chat bass in a world where playing out is somewhat curtailed - look forward to doing it again.
In the spirit of this thread, here's a video from last year that I don't think I've posted - was asked to join this band about this time last year - IIRC this was our second gig together. Taken from a camera moving in front of the stage so sound is not pristine but you'll get the idea!
Hopefully you'll be able to see it and it's not blocked!
