Thanks Gents - a pleasure to hang out and chat bass in a world where playing out is somewhat curtailed - look forward to doing it again.

In the spirit of this thread, here's a video from last year that I don't think I've posted - was asked to join this band about this time last year - IIRC this was our second gig together. Taken from a camera moving in front of the stage so sound is not pristine but you'll get the idea!

Hopefully you'll be able to see it and it's not blocked!

I do want to share the video I posted to my FB page today. I've been trying to post a couple of gig video memories every day but turns out it's "somewhat" daily. I still have a bit of a life that gets in the way of my goofing off. Anyway, these were my two Facebook gig memory posts for today...............

Hi everybody! I hope and pray God continues to bless you all, my friends. Please continue to exercise caution and common sense so that we may come out of this a stronger, more united, more grateful and appreciative nation and people. With that said, I apologize again because I don't think I posted any video gig memories yesterday. Hence the "somewhat daily" qualifier for my little Facebook project. Here's the first one for today and, I must say, it's a rather unique memory. This show was at a casino in Texas near the border and the people were just as nice as they could be at the meet-and-greets before and after the show. But during the show it was a little weird. At the beginning and the end of this little compilation you can tell a lot of the audience just walked out on the dance floor with their phones, stuck them in our faces, and recorded the whole event. They just stood there holding their phones. We were performing to a bunch of cameras. The crowd in the seats was great, responsive, and everyone enjoyed the show. It was just a little odd. Anyway, this is a collection of social media postings from that True Willie event. I'll have much better recordings for you later on. I just wanted to share the uniqueness of this memory.



Thanks for putting up with me! Here's the second of my "somewhat daily" gig video memories. This one features our dear friend Paul Haaker on the steel guitar. We had just learned this fun little tune (you can tell I'm still reading my chart) and tried it out on stage at Cowboy Country. It's a great tune and I would enjoy playing it again whenever Paul joins us to make some more real good country music. Here's to you Paul!

Hey Cliff. I was upset that the clip of Seven Spanish Angles (my fav song TW does) was so short, but you followed it with some Bob Wills so you are forgiven.

I'll be seriously crushed if the Laguna Beach TW gigs are cancelled. Well, maybe not crushed but I'll shed a tear or two.

He, and the band, sounded great! Steel guitar makes for authentic country.

Pretty much all of my videos live on my Youtube channel. From there I just copy and past the video link. The forum software does the rest.

If you have video on your computer you'd like to share, I would suggest getting a free Youtube account and you can upload your video to your channel and share from there.

Thanks gents - Bill IIRC it'll be a mix of an 18" sub + 15" + horn tops, and my 12" Bergantino on stage pointing back at me and the drummer. Wish I had proper video-ed and mixed stuff like @BassCliff - always sounds great!

All our takeaway places nationwide have been shut for 5 weeks during lockdown - they are able to open again on Tuesday - anticipating chaos!

Unless I'm mistaken you have to post your video to another site like Youtube and then link to it from TB.

TB doesn't host videos so you need to have it somewhere else on the 'net so you get an abbress for TB to look for it.

I'm sure there's other sites, I only use Youtube so cant give you any others.

Here's a couple of video gig memories before I send out our Zoom GTG invites for Thursday evening. If you'd like to join us please PM your email to me.

Good evening my friends. I hope you are all safe, well, and very blessed by God. My first video gig memory this evening was recorded at a city park concert in Temple City, Feb. 20, 2015. Me and the KRB performed a Doobie Brothers song while Dave Grover recorded us and ran the sound. I remember it was chilly that night and keeping our voices and fingers warm was a challenge. Since there was no video I used this soundtrack with a bunch of pictures from other performances at Knott's Berry Farm, Disneyland, various other city parks, and finally a shot on stage at the Queen Mary. I love the way this band performs this song. They make me sound like I know what I'm doing. Oh, I forgot. You get to see me in a rare appearance wearing a hat!




For the second of my "somewhat daily" video gig memories here is a performance from summer of last year at the Laguna Festival of Arts with the True Willie Band. I've always enjoyed this song and used to sing it decades ago in another band. True Willie (Roger) does a great job.




I'll be glad when we can all get back to posting real gig reports, not just memories. But if you have memories, please share. We'd love to see them.

For the second of my "somewhat daily" video gig memories here is a performance from summer of last year at the Laguna Festival of Arts with the True Willie Band. I've always enjoyed this song and used to sing it decades ago in another band. True Willie (Roger) does a great job.

I was at that show. So good. Is there a more tasteful guitarist than Mike? Is there a sweeter keyboard player than John? Is there a tighter drummer than David? Is there a more solid bassist than Cliff? Is there a more entertaining front man than Roger? No on all counts. Put the pieces together and you get one great band.

Unfortunately the expected bad news broke today that the Orange County Fair is cancelled and my favorite gig with it. I fear the Laguna Festival of Arts, along with the True Willie gigs are in jeopardy as they are in the same July/August time frame. That will leave some big holes in the summer.

On a lighter note, here's another gig memory with sub LG Gary. Always love me some Doc Watson.

I certainly hope this quarantine of healthy people doesn't go into July. All we can do is hope and pray for quick solutions and good decisions.

I like Gary's repertoire and the vintage vibe he adds. He was a great addition when Jay was not available.

Gary has the vintage vibe for sure. I've played with him on and off since the late 80s. He brings lots of good songs with him. Definitely a good guy to have in the wings.

I certainly hope this quarantine of healthy people doesn't go into July. All we can do is hope and pray for quick solutions and good decisions.

If it goes into July I'm gonna be beyond devastated. Even if our venues don't open I'd feel better if we could at least practice. It's been so hard knowing we have a new member who is a great vocalist for us but is new to cajon and we can't get together. We only had 2 practices before they put a closed sign on the world.

And on another note, we have our family place on Lake Superior that we spend as much time as possible at in the summer. We can get there, not go into town or interact with others but there is a 4 hr travel time to get there so we'd be taking a big chance in travelling if they tighten that restriction. And if we can't travel there then how is it fair to pay property taxes on it? Just venting, sorry.

Actually, here in CA, the SF Bay Area was basically locked down from anyone going in or out of the are about a month ago. I don't know the current status,. They had reason to believe it was becoming a hot bed for some reason and shut it down tight. So if an area is suspected of being an issue, it will get locked up. I can't imagine Northern Wisconsin would ever have this level of issue though.

Not yet, I know that in Green Bay they were fining people for violating the safer at home order. The sheriff said that "law enforcement will not pull you over without cause to see if you're violating the Safer at Home order." But that is a "not yet" sort of thing. That is assuming a worse-case scenario sort of events, but until I see positive movement that's what I'm looking for.

Also, there were some residents up there pushing to have "2nd homers" prohibited from travelling north. Which if you know anything about WI is where everyone goes in the summer. Not just where we are but everywhere up there. Once the discussion took on the subject of why should people pay property taxes on property they couldn't use that seemed to calm that effort. We could legitimately go and not run into anyone except a neighbor we could wave at from 10+ ft away.

And yes, it's very sweet and we LOVE it there.

The same thing happened in some of the north shore communities and other cabin land areas, they were fairly removed from this at the start, I dont know where there at these days but they were telling folks please dont come up and if you must please patronize the local businesses here for your supplies, they need the money too.

I come there to Kayak once in awhile, would love to have a residence up there to chill out. Been contemplating buying a trout stamp to try some fishing on the Bois Brule
