HELP!! Noise problem that appeared and won't go away!!!

I own a Fender MIM Jazz bass which when I bought new and was dead quite with its standard set up. Only noise was the 60Hz hum from single coil pickups. So after some time I decided to buy new pickups to remove this 60Hz hum and get a better sound that didn't feel so flat.

I bought Norstrand NJ4SE noiseless pickups. I installed them myself since I had a soldering iron and solder at home and felt that soldering 3 wires for each pickup wasn't a big deal. Still everything was fine, no noise and now even better no 60Hz hum. And I mean no noise at all. This bass wasn't shielded or anything.

Aright so 2 weeks later I notice my rear pickup isn't picking up too well and randomly creating huge amount of feedback with my amp. So I open up the control panel and notice that my original soldering job that connected the ground wire from the pickups to the potentiometer is now loose and doesn't have a proper bond. :rollno: Seems that my soldering job was poor. Alright so I disconnect both the grounding for the front pickup and the rear pickup and re-solder them to the pots.

This is where the problem starts. When I get proper bond going that I check multiple times for a good connection and put the panel back on I go test the bass with my amp. As soon as I turn on my amp I have loads of noise, this noise does reduce when I put my hand on the strings and when I turn down the tone nob, so I know my bridge is properly grounded but whats the problem?

So I re-solder everything again, it still has the noise. Then I do star grounding and connect all the grounds to one location and connect everything that needs to be grounded to there. Still doesn't remove the noise... Today I went out and bought copper tape. I filled every cavity and soldered the joints ( soldered almost every seem where different copper tape peices met ) and after shielding I once again did star grounding. I go to test it in hopes of no noise... guess what, its the same as ever. But now I get even more noise if I put my hand close to the pickups without touching the strings.

I have tried everything and looked over the connections multiple times with a multimeter. This is really bothering me and I can't seem to solve it. Has anyone has similar problems after grounding and shielding before? What was the problem and how was it fixed? :help: please help
