Probably not MIM Standard, but I'm pretty sure they were MIM. I couldn't find a 2006 or later (after the change from "1" to "One") parts list, but the 2003 and 2005 service manuals show the front pickup as #0058358000, which is an MIM pickup, albeit an upgraded version.

I am planning to get another pickguard, either black or tort (not sure yet). So the ones that would fit must also fit MIM or…
Is there any differnece in screw holes on MIM and MIA?

Yeah I don't actually know where they were made, but they were used on some MIA basses, specifically the American Specials.

I'm not positive but I think you want an American Standard pickguard as the truss adjustment is at the butt of the neck and utilizes the T adjustment tool. Neither MIM nor AV will allow access.

Nice bass, I have the same color Highway One and also swapped the BAII with a threaded saddle. Great minds think alike right! I also got rid of the grease bucket and put in a 0.47 uf Orange Drop.
Great minds! Do you hear much difference with the grease bucket gone? I've thought about doing it too but not sure what the difference will be sonically.

I hear a difference but whether it's a difference you would like depends on personal preference. I am pretty heavy handed with my tone control, I like the thumpy mids and lows rolling it back produces. But a lot of players think rolling the tone back just sounds like mud.
If you like that rolled off warmth and want more of it then I say remove it, but if you like your tone wide open then leave it. For me the Grease Bucket is like putting a governor on your tone, like it only warms up so far, but with the standard tone it just keeps going. Maybe the .047 cap is the main reason for that difference? Like it just gives it a wider range that you can roll off. Hope this makes sense.

Makes Plenty of sense and is my experience with this bass. I'm all over the place with the tone control depending on the sound I'm going for but there are times I wish I could get it darker, especially when favoring the neck pup. I may make the change. Did you mod it or did you have it done? Mine is a 2011, the last year for the H.O. and I've heard that some don't have the grease bucket but I'm sure mine does based upon it's tone limitation.

If you pop off the control plate and see two capacitors and a resistor its a greasebucket. Just one cap and it's the standard control. If you can solder it's not hard, just make sure you pull up a wiring diagram like this one: EP-4129-000 Wiring Kit for Jazz Bass® and make sure you get the wires put on the right lug of the pot so your tone doesn't roll off backwards. One thing you could do is just get a new pot or a whole new wiring harness that way if you decide you miss the greasebucket it would be easy to swap it back.

Good idea! Thanks for your help and I'm good with a soldering gun but do I need any extra parts or am I just extracting something? Ah, just saw the diagram you attached. Cheap conversion!
