Good idea! Thanks for your help and I'm good with a soldering gun but do I need any extra parts or am I just extracting something?
I think you need a capacitor. I don't remember what the value of the two capacitors on the greasebucket are but I don't think they are the right value to reuse. I put a .047 uF Orange Drop in both my Highway One Jazz and my American Special P both came with greasebucket new. But if you just buy a pre-wired control plate then you only have to worry about soldering the pickups in and you can leave the stock harness alone.
