Isn't it normal for trends in art and design to emerge, become ubiquitous, be overused, then shunned, disappear for a while, and then certain of their better elements return later on as part of the enduring model?

Ten years ago analog synthesizers came back, sort of. I found I'd missed them a little. This seems to be right on time.

Didn’t we revisit 80s fashion a couple of years ago? In the UK in 2018 or 19 people were wearing neon colours, stone wash denim and leggings again.

My daughter wears jeggings and my son has just got some stonewashed jeans. I'm looking at those jeans and my heart is saying 'Go on, get yourself a pair ?'. But my brain says, stay well away!

My first bass was a poorly setup black EX404. I would entertain getting another one for nostalgia also.

I played a Fender Jazz Special in the 80's. I think it became the Duff signature PJ later on.
I welcome this stuff back. If only we could pay now closer to what things cost back then.

80's/90's shred style guitars were pretty much the biggest trend in the guitar world in 2020, we're just now seeing it creep into the bass world as well. If you look at Reverb's metrics on guitars that increased in value last year all the old Jackson, Charvel, etc. guitars were at the top of the list. It's amusing when people really keep themselves firmly in the bass world and fail to see these trends coming haha

Thanks. Many more on the bucket list but the prices became ridiculous. 2-3 years ago you could get a Forum III or many other brands for 2-300 bucks and look what's happening now. A bolt on forum goes around 4-500.

Yup, I pad $300 for my old Charvel 3B. Now people are asking $800 or more. The Forum has always been on my bucket list.

Are you looking for a Forum now? I found a bolt on IV with the Khaz pre for $320 on marketplace..Pretty decent condition. It's still available because the seller just posted it in a local buy/sell group.

Geez I hated the influx of Charvel, Jackson, and all of the other neon-colored PJ basses that we’re out then. But my first bass was an 80’s G&L L2000 and THAT I’d love to have back, along with my rickenbackers from that time.
